Jesse Bags Installation

I just picked up a black Super T and one of the first things I ordered was a set of Odyssey II from Jesse Bags.
I just received the bags and there was no documentation with the bags. Does anyone have the install instructions?
I did a loose fit check and everything seems to fit with the exception of one extra brace.
I called Jesse and was directed to the UK distributors website, damned if I could find them.

Thanks

Good day, RIGS, and welcome to the Forum. I can't help you with the Jesse question, but there are some here who can. When you get the chance, please post under Member Intros; otherwise, other members will miss the fact that you're a new member. They like to say howdy. Good luck with the pannier question, and again, ::004:: . R. ::022::

Hey Rigs,

I tried to upload the PDF here, but the file size is too big. Send me a PM with your email and I will see if I can email it.

Looks like they dont have the link up on their site yet to them. They used to have them posted on the Explorermoto site, but looks like he isnt the distributor for the bags any more....

Which one extra brace? If it's the one I'm thinking of, it fits under the passenger peg mount (the big cast alloy piece that wraps around the muffler). You have to remove that piece and bolt the plate underneath.

If that doesn't help I can take pics tomorrow - otherwise try emailing Jesse direct and ask to send a pdf of the instructions - info@jesseluggage.com

I went through this about two weeks ago. No paperwork included in the box. Everything was pretty straight forward except for the bracket you mentioned. Real head scratcher! I called Jesse Luggage up and they said to download the instructions from their site but I informed them that the site said "installation manual coming soon". Long story short (too late) that bracket mounts on the underside of the passenger foot peg mount on the exhaust side. Remove the foot peg mount and you'll find two threaded holes on the backside. It's just reinforcement for if/when the bike falls on that side as the peg mount is made of cast.

Great system, congratulations and good luck!

Congrats on the panniers! I installed mine this week and went through the exact same thing as there were no instructions included.

I bet I spent an hour, or more, trying to figure out what that bracket was for.

mounted mine a couple weeks ago, i agree, documentation, website, and organization is a bit of a train wreck for the price. happy to help if you get stuck, careful with the RIGHT side foot peg bolts, Jessee should really include too longer bolts, because with the spacer behind the passenger peg the bolt threads don't get much bite, if you are off, you will strip the sub frame (don't ask). you can email at gbergma1 at hotmail dot com I can send any pictures to help you at. take your time, don't snug up any bolts until it is all together.

Actually I had to cut my right foot peg bolt down 5 mm or so. It was usable, but long, with the passenger hand grips installed, but when I tried the installation w/o the passenger hand grips I used only the 1/2" spacer, instead of the supplied 1/2" and 3/8" combination. Then the bolt was into the frame. Trimmed it works in either configuration. Wonder if we got different length bolts?

Same for me, Twisties. If wanted to omit any spacers the bolt would contact the frame.

Today I installed a set of Jesse Odyssey II 10" panniers on my 2013 white ST10. I got the charcoal color and I think they look great. I'm worried about things getting hot inside when they're out in the sun but maybe I can do something about that if it's a problem. I used the online instructions for installing the mounts and cases and everything went on just fine. One of the features I like best is that you can open the lid and use it as a table/tray. With the right insulation and a little fabrication I bet you could turn one of those lids into a nice little BBQ too. <grin>

Great looking install! My S10 came with Jesse bags and I love them. I highly recommend the liners. The lid liners allow you to stash all those little things that would otherwise sink to the bottom of the case (and be tough to retrieve if needed). I use the liner on the right side for clothes on a long trip. Pull the liner out, take to bedroom/closet, fill it up, zip it up and slide it back into the bag. Super easy! 8)

Great-looking bike! I have black Jesses on my blue Ténéré and I love them. I haven't noticed anything getting too hot while the bike is sitting in the sun.

I asked Jesse to email me the instructions and they did. I got my 9 in. Safaris today and put them on in about 2 hours. Black on black. Top case is Shad SH45 I mounted by drilling 4 holes in original rack.

Just a suggestion for the bags if you do some dirt riding with them on. I have the 10" Odyssey II on my bike. When the bike decided to take a nap (aka rider riding a bit beyond his current abilities), the lid of the bag popped open and is now tweaked a little. Still works, but a suggestion is to lock the bags to prevent this from happening.

Mark, had the same happen to me in Colorado. I was worried about the bag being water tight. So when I got home, sent the bag to Jessie to be trued up. They charged about $75, but the bag was in perfect working order when I got it back. Great people to work with. They got it done quickly. ::008::

Thanks, will keep that in mind. Mine is not too bad. Front latch takes a bit more effort to latch, rear not as much, but it all appears to still be water tight. Going to let a friend of mine, who is a weight lifting gorilla, try and get it back close to what it should be.
