To all, I'm not here to promote her channel but her first episode for season 7 just came out and my question to all, she is using a tablet for her GPS replacing her Garmin: do we know what she's using looks very interesting.
I used Garmin before and Garmin is fine for what it is. I ditched it for this setup because I wanted a larger display and the ability to use different apps for different types of rides. With apps, I can use Google's mymaps to plot out roads very easy. I also like the ability to tether my phone to it and have live Waze traffic and speed trap updates when I am riding the slab.Bill very nice set up thank you for the constructive response !
What did you use before and how would you rate this product /option VS a Garmin ?
What happened? She dumped you?Never watched, never will.
Easy answer: https://www.networthspot.com/itchy-boots/net-worth/... she needs to stop and reflect on why she started doing her travels in the first place.

I'm in your camp. No dislike for Itchy though, I don't watch any ride reports. They're never engaging or entertaining for me. I don't create any either, as a huge amount of time required. I spend the time I save traveling more.Never watched, never will.
I don’t understand why you criticise her. She is doing something she loves and makes a living doing it, for many of us, she is living the dream that most people will never do. So she is exploring different facets of motorcycling, be it trail, track or road, does it really matter? My own motorcycling journey began on the dirt as a 12 year old, moved to road, then track, then trials, enduros before going back to road. Here I am, 58 years later, touring in UK and Europe whenever I can. You don’t have to watch here and you don’t have to criticise her, she is changing and evolving, much the same as we all have done, so don’t knock her for it.I actually watched every seasons and episodes from day one till now. Once she went from traveler to racer I lost interest...too bad.
I hope the best to her but couldn't care about racing but wished she continued with her travels.
On another note, even though she was new at this her beginnings were IMO far better and interesting then her last travel to Alaska.
After Covid she became repetitive and almost boring, she needs to stop and reflect on why she started doing her travels in the first place.

great reply, well said sirNot sure why I feel the need to comment but I do. The world has been thrust into 3 yrs of garbage. COVID and war but watching ItchyBoots is a pleasant diversion that we can all use. Her zeal to go and explore distant places all with a huge beautiful smile and bright blue eyes that see the good in people not the worst. She reinforces the fact that we are all the same at our core and all want the same thing. Even in the worst of situations she finds joy. There is also the teaching element whether it is on the geography that she rides or the people she meets. Bringing attention to many indigenous cultures throughout the world that are exploited or silenced for one reason or another. Yes, she makes her living posting videos and riding her bike but really can any of us say that if we could do what she does we wouldn't jump at the chance. I know I would relish that position. Watch or don't watch but know that she has the courage and grace to follow her dreams. For me it would be a dream and until I can make that a reality I am happy to follow hers.
Hi @Bill_C , Just saw your set up and I am interested to see how sturdy is the tablet and whether you do offroad and what are the attachment of the tablet mount? I just started a thread yesterday about my project of getting a rugged 8" tablet mounted exactly the way you did....thanks a lot in advance! It's a rugged tablet with a tablet mount. No idea what app that is but with a tablet you can load whatever you want.
I run a similar setup. I got the idea from a fellow member. It's basically a less expensive version of the Carpe Iter.
