I don't have the slightest idea what is going on, but I sure wouldn't be signing into a strange site with your credentials from here, especially if you tend to repeat IDs/passwords at multiple sites - that's almost the textbook example of what a phishing site tries to get you to do.

OK - For those who won't spend the few seconds to click the link, the following is from the owner of THIS site almost three years ago. If you were not aware, THIS forum is one of a group. It was in the sign-up most people here agreed to and is discussed in the 3rd sticky in the sub-forum about how the YST forum operates. ("most" assumes that us early buyers are now in the minority)

No phishing. No black helicopters or NSA spying secretly behind the scenes.

I'm probably going to regret introducing this to the public in this way, but this is what I've been working on for the past several months. My day job has been absolutely maddening, so the introduction of it has gotten delayed again and again. This thread and hearing all of what you are saying made me realize there is no reason to delay any further. In short, I've re-architected the forum to create a shared base from which multiple forums source from. The word of the day is "integrated." As far as I know this is a novel idea and as such is experimental in nature, so I've been hesitant to bring it out, but here it is. This is my solution to the problem of being all-inclusive, yet still retaining the individual community feel of a smaller site. I loved it when Desert Dave brought up about how we are all nomadic when it comes to bikes and bike forums; when we get a new bike we go to a new forum. In this model I've created nobody needs to leave, the next forum for their new bike will be right here and ready, no need to re-register, no loss of PMs, media, no loss of current friends. It's the best I could do folks, I hope some of you agree with my vision. The pictures below hopefully will help cut through some of the confusion. After you've taken a look, you can pop over to: http://www.adventurebikeforums.com for a look at what is coming. The configuration is not 100% yet, but it's getting pretty close. I will post a formal announcement soon, but for now at least readers of this thread can share their thoughts on this. I'll be back later to offer further clarification and answer questions and provide additional input. ChrisEdit 4/30/2012: The above was written a few weeks back, and since then the concept has been completely realized. TriumphTigers.com is now available as the new home for the Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 as well as the other "Tiger" bikes in the Triumph line up.The new sites, AdventureBikeForums.com and TriumphTigers.com need a lot of love and lots of tweaking, but with time I hope they grow and take on personalities of their own. We'll see, as I state in the title, this is a grand "Experiment" that hasn't been tried before.

Okay, but this doesn't negate the basic message.... if you value any set of credentials, never use them at anything except a trusted site. A cavalier attitude in this sort of thing will get you in real trouble.

My posts and credentials are being mirrored to a Triumph Tiger forum? In what alternative universe does this make the slightest sense? I signed up for is an account on the S10 forum to share S10 information and that's all. I would prefer it stay that way.

Seriously, my password credentials passed to a site I didn't even know existed? ::007::

Maybe it's my fault?
I hadn't traded my Triumph Explorer for my Tenere before I joined this site and I may still have had Triumph bugs on my fingers when I signed in! -JEP-

Guys, no worries on this. Everything is perfectly secure.

Checkswrecks has it correct, this was an experiment I worked on several years ago to try and extend the successful Tenere community outward, with the intention of creating something novel, a conjoined set of forums that each had their own identity, but could share information common to the audience (adventure riders). While I believe the idea was/is sound, it required much more time to get off the ground than I could ever dedicate.

As of now I've shut down both the "sister" sites to this one, so this shouldn't come up again. Someday perhaps I can re-tool the idea if it makes sense but for now it's over.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the explanation. And thanks for your help on the forum.... I know it is a lot of work. Glad it is shut down.... fewer back doors left open the better.
