I think people need to realize that they don't have a VMax engine between their legs, if people want that kind of power, then they should buy a VMax.................

I think the S10 has plenty of power to get me in trouble!

I guess to each their own. I bought this bike to be my utility knife and was pleasantly surprised to learn it was more than that. I have a street glide that has all the bells and whistles done to the motor for performance and it sits in my garage unused since the S10 arrived. I like speed and race a lot with my Mates. The s10 is smooth as silk at 120 mph and handles the corners like a lovebite with the EO7 Dakar tires fitted. Dirt roads are a blast and not once have I found myself in a situation where I felt a lack of power. I don't believe there is a single riding discipline that this bike wont fulfill. So in "long" if this bike does not work for you then not many will.
Gotta agree-great all round motorcycle. I've been on bikes since '67 and this is my favorite. Does every type of riding I want to do and does them all pretty darn well.

Had a cager try to cut me off in traffic. Pulled the clutch, switched to Sport Mode and got away from him. Passed a couple of other cars and hit a light. Totally forget I was in sport mode and did a Touring Mode medium throttle take off. Almost fell off the back as my left hand was not really gripping the bar. OOPS. Almost broke in so may play more with sport mode!

Check around on the net-there were some great buts on new 12 & 13 models a while ago. In June I bought a new 13 with extra warranty & $1200 in Yamaha goodies for $10,500 + tax/title/ license @ Lee's in Harrodsburg KY

if you are planning on riding long distances at 80 + mph it's not the ideal bike for that. up to 80 mph the bike just rides so well but after that it doesnt like being there for medium long terms. (with side cases that is)
I disagree, I ride from Idaho to Wisconsin and back twice a year. I do back to back 1K days and regularly cruise at 90+, all day... no problems... Bikes seems to really purr at 5K rpms...

I have ridden mine at 95 indicated for over three hours, fully loaded. It did it no problem. It just sucks the gas down, and in my case, uses a bit of oil.

Unfortunately, I have ridden it across NV on I-80 several times (posted 75 mph) and also on the posted 80 mph stretches of I-15 and I-80 in UT. It does suck some fuel, particularly with the wind management set up I have and big Jesse side cases, but I never thought the bike doesn't like it, per se. I won't say where or when on a public forum, but I've ridden it well north of 100 mph sustained speeds on at least two occasions that come to mind. One was for about 60 miles at about 110 mph. The only issue was that the GS's I was riding with needed gas.
