I was wondering who is attending this event at the Vstrom rally May 12-15 in NC? In the past it's been a great time meeting up with board members. Maybe this year we can have a coming out party for those that that have ordered their ST's, and have to go to this event with some "other bike". I plan on being there and staying nearby most likely. Post up in you intend on going. I will be packing rather lightly since my V storm is mostly stock at this point.

I've stayed there before. Nice place!!!!
It is in the Mecca of the east coast riding circuit. The place is outstanding with the stream running right through it. I go at least 2x per year. This is a ride worth taking. I am hoping to meet some of the ST buyers at this event. Of course almost anyplace beats Florida roads for imagination.

Awesome, I use to own some land off Hwy 28 south (not too far from there). Now I have a place up near the parkway in Balsam Gap. May have to try to make it out there around that weekend!

Good dates for the rally, right before it gets too hot. I won't be going to this one though. I may try and hit BYOB in WV though, not sure yet.

^ Ain’t that the truth?

Ironically, I’ll be up there with a different group starting on the 15th of May. We’ll be at Fontana Dam through the 19th and then over in Canton at Blue Ridge MC Camp through the 22nd. From my mark…57 days, 15 hours, 55 minutes away…obviously I can’t wait! ;D

Ironhorse is a beautiful place. Well maintained, good food. It is NOT a rowdy biker place.

I've gone to the last 3 Strom gatherings at Iron Horse. Always been a good time. Have a cabin reserved again, but I'm not positive I'm going. A lot of my regular riding partners are going to be AWOL this year and I may just skip the rain fest this year. Not sure.

Hope you can make it again. I will be there, made a reservation nearby, and just need something that will keep me motivated while waiting for the Tenere to arrive. Most of the people I go with won't be there either, no need to miss it though.

Was Iron Horse all booked? I have a private cabin booked at the moment. I'll make a decision in the next two weeks. If I don't go I can let you know so you can grab my cabin if I'm not going to need it. Let me know if you're interested. Again, I'm sure of nothing.

Going with some friends I don't normally go with, we wanted to bunk at the same place, so we went for a place in Robbinsville. I was going to tent, but stripping my 650 down to bare bones, and there is no place for gear. I really don't like the bike as much this way, as I carry lots of stuff with me normally. I will be spending time at Ironhorse though, meeting with everyone, hanging out at the lodge.

If the crowd is too big at the ironhorse there is another place right down the road actually you pass it going to the ironhorse. It is called the Kickstand located right off 28. Not as swanky as the ironhorse but reasonable and has a super clean bath house. Nice lady runs the place by the name of Mo. I may be up at either the ironhorse or Kickstand with my toy hauler the end of May for about a week. I will be riding my Bking since no ST will be here by then. :'(

Roy, I have no bags left on my vstrom, since I stripped it. It has nearly stock items left on it but had to keep the russell seat. I won't be camping this time around, as I have no place to haul much gear. If you can get there earlier, let me know and we can get together.
