I like the utilitarian look. They might not be as shiney & purty as other cases, but they can take a beatin' & a bashin' and still perform well.

Dang! Wish I had seen this before. I just bolted on a Pelican 1400 on my rear Altrider rack. Would have preferred a little more room. It works, but a bit snug.

I immediately jumped on those top loaders when they came out a few months back. The pictures above are my bike actually. I love them. Probably should have put some pictures up myself.
I used to have the big 45l Trax boxes. On speeds >70mph they just caught too much wind and made the tail unstable. They were too big for me and since my riding habits changed to offroading more I wanted something sturdy and not too expensive. These boxes are exactly the right size and also catch absolutely no wind on higher speeds.

The Top loaders are perfect. I just bolted them directly to the SW-Motech rack I had. Works perfectly. Granted on one side there is not enough clearance for the top to open 100%. I was debating to take the handles off, but got used to it. They open about 75% and I can load and unload without issues.

Tipped the bike over in the dirt (fully loaded) on my last outing and can't even see a scratch. (Going downhill, rear wheel got caught in a rut and slid out). Beats Wolfman saddle bags by far from a loading/unloading perspective.

They might be more for the utilitarian purist than for the Touratech Starbucks poser though.

I really like the top loaders. Are the tops of the cases level with the tray under the passenger seat? If not could the mounting hardware be moved enough to make that a possibility?

I didn't get much help from the Caribou ADV rider thread but perhaps someone can help me here.

What's the secret to have stickers/decals stick to the caribou hard cases?

Thanks ::002::

A friend and I were just talking about this, LOL. My guess is the plastic continues to off-gas... for ever. If the surface is clean, the bond should stay good. But something is taking out the adhesive. The only thing there is the plastic itself. I know people have used the high end 3M reflective strips, are they staying stuck? 3M knows adhesives.

The reflective strips appear to adhere but typical state decals or stickers are hit and miss and I love stickers so I might need to change to something more decal friendly.

I was able to sample an IPA new (for me) solution in Savannah . I believe is was was marketed by the moniker Carolina Blonde. Not able to determine how it may affect the adhesive properties of stickers on the Caribou luggage though. Would old fashioned rubber cement possibly work?

Haha.. I'm not talking about that IPA! I'm referring to isopropyl alcohol aka rubbing alcohol. Speak of IPA.. I'm gonna have to open one up now while it's raining! ::003::
