I was thumbing through one of my favorite motorcycle magazines and saw a product review for Wolfman's new Boulder Beta Rear Bag. The reviewer showed several shots of the bag and then included this nice photo to show it mounted on an adventure bike. The magazine? BMW Owners News, Aug. 2014 edition. (I knew you guys would get a laugh.)

That Tenere belongs to Eric "Wolfy" owner of Wolfman. I bumped into him in Created Butte in 2011 when we had each owned our bikes for only a few months.

Hi Jeff. With that plate, I assumed the bike belonged to someone at Wolfman. Cool that you got to meet him on the road.

The funny thing is, the person who wrote the product review article is a BMWMOA member and presumably has a BMW bike he could have shown it on, but instead a chief competitor of the GS was printed in the magazine. The author even wrote, "I found that it worked well on a 1200GS."

But I will hand it to the MOA folks: I see a lot of other brands at the national rallies as well as the local BMW club's fall rally--all are welcome and I've only heard good-natured kidding if any at all. The last national rally I attended in 2012 I took my Kawasaki Super Sherpa because I knew it would be convenient to get around the rally grounds on--I got nothing but complements and questions from genuinely interested rally-goers.

I don't see a problem with it. I was part of the BMW community for almost 15 years. They're good people...who can appreciate truly excellent motorcycles! ::003::

...... and I currently belong to both the BMW and Yamaha community because the manufactures produce excellent products. I don't drink any of the cool aid, either tuning fork or roundel flavored. I'll leave that to the small minded faithful.
