Howdy,
I have had my first issue with s10. Water (possibly salt water) got into my meter assembly. I believe it was when trailered through Kansas and they dropping salt for upcoming ice. I don't know whether or not my boot for the connection got loose (probably) and got water in or through the side.
Well regardless when I opened up the instrument cluster or meter assembly after it switched to kph from mph by itself, there was cloudy water dripping out and the two lower switches connections on 2012 s10 were corroded. I cleaned and dried it all out removed the corrosion and the switches worked for a little bit then quit and this time for good. It switches to the diagnostic screen or screen brightness if I hit the right button. If I don't touch anything it stays on regular screen. Luckily it is stuck on mph. No trip, and can only see air temp can't scroll through options. Mph, gas, tach tcs, lights, drive mode all work fine.
Can this be repaired? I think it is a shorted connection to the left switch.
