Enough of the pissing contest, please. There is no right or wrong answer.

If you have a flash, PCV, exhaust etc and have it set up well on the dyno (and maybe an autotune) this is going to give you the best result, but for a lot of money.

Can we not just ::021::
I like the way you think!! ::008::

no comment officer, but i certainly am not envious or regretting sending my ECU to italy and turning it into the grunt monster it has become. over and out.
im off out to scare some cows ::008::
And I'm not envious of the performance enhancement that been obtained by at 1 pence wire and electrical tape. It's certainly been beneficial. Hence my comment of conspicuous silence. ::020::

Continue to follow with interest but cannot try as my dealer continues to get parts to revive my deer hit S10. Didn't even get a chance to re-flash as it only had 1600 miles but I will try this mod...what the heck!

Has anyone felt or observed any detrimental affects? Anyone out there been using it from the start of the thread to weigh in?

Like I said awhile back I did this to each of my FJRs to avoid getting stranded by crud buildup at the clutch and sidestand.

I've had this fuse mod in for a week (one tank) and will remove it when I fill up today. Curious to see if there is a dramatic reduction in fuel economy, accepting that I was more prone to whack the throttle...purely in the interest of feeling the difference. Also want to know if I'll be disappointed returning to stock. The performance change I notice is that the bike really lurches off the line whereas before the initial throttle tip-in was much more tempered. My seat-o-the-pants meter doesn't register an increase in HP, just more whump off the bottom end. Never managed to lift the front end just by gassing it in first or second, even with TC-off. Maybe I was too used to the stock behavior, but sometimes this new-found lurch is a little disconcerting, especially when launching into a corner, like from stopped at an intersection. Or maybe I'm just a wuss an need to ride my 250 instead. ::26::

Nice. It's 9:15 and I'm already getting my quota for the day of people pissed at me :D Is there any way of making a poll to find out how many people are completely happy with stock S10?
I'm completely happy :))

Okay, if I had the money I would probably change the exhaust just for a better sound ;)

I didn't buy this bike for racing, 100 HP or whatever is more than enough to carry the 152 lbs of me >:D

Sent from my amazing Samsung SII :)

Yes I have had this mod for a couple of weeks and after two fairly long dirt rides on mostly abrasive gravel roads my rear tyre has just about screamed enough, I find this mod seems to want the rear wheel to pass the front a lot more as I always turn the TCS off. Fun factor is definately raised a couple of notches.

Yes, I am happy with my S10 stock. Well, except, I changed the windscreen, and I bought a Corbin seat, oh yeah, changed the fork springs, and the shock spring. Plus I added a SpeedDRD and GIPRO, oh and a trailtech switch for dash controls on the handlebar. I really like the fuse holder mod also.

Cows don't even look up when I go by, but sometimes if I goose it the horses might jump a step!

Hi guys, I have fitted a handle bar mount switch to bridge the clutch switch at will. I found that if a ride at lower speeds (the lower the speed, the more dramatic the effect) and I close the switch, the engine revs will drop and the bike will reduce speed quite considerably. To maintain the same speed I must then open the throttle quite a bit more, thus using a lot more fuel at the same speed. It is almost like pulling the choke while you are driving, in other words, like it is running richer. Obviously, if you open the throttle it will take off and definitely feels faster and revs more freely than normal. I will only use it off-road where you sometimes need instant power like in sand or up a steep incline and of cause when a beemer pulls up next to me at a traffic light...

Yea, that's funny!!!! My K13GT was soooooo fast........sitting in the shop so much. Actually, it was fast. Fast for BMW to buy back lemon law!!!

Call it the hare and turtle then. I'll take my turtle to your hare any day.

Oh and "fast" is a determinant factor of who is twisting the loud horn much more than the bike itself.

At the risk of quoting myself...
I filled up last night, the first time I ever put in more than 5 gallons, at 201 miles on the ODO, exactly my weekly commute. I got 39 MPG compared to my lifetime average of 43.7. Didn't think I whacked the throttle that much! I suspect the fuse mod makes it run rich and as such is probably not properly tuned. I think a remapped ECU is the way to go for better throttle response in the lower gears, maybe someday. I'll shelve this trick until I understand it better. The tip-in lurch is not worth a 10% mileage hit for me. The stock motor is no slouch. Riding my 250 a lot keeps me humble.
