Seems to make "T" mode pull better also, "S" mode is a little sensitive but easier to take off smooth from a stop. I like it.

In the Super tenere there is much voodoo and magic.

There also lurks power sucking vampires brought forth from the kingdom of Nanny.

This mod puts a stake through the heart of the Vampire leaving just the magic and Voodoo the priests of Iron Horses installed in the first place.

Apart from that it adds power and sucks more fuel.

Just pick a value mini-fuse (flat kind with blades) that you wish to have a spare. I chose a 7.5 amp, the little plug in for the clutch sensor switch will hold your spare fuse for you until you need it else where. Just push it in beside the existing 2 wires.

This pic pretty much tells you everything you need to know. Look under your handlebar that your clutch lever resides on. Find that little electrical connector there, and use it as a fuse holder....

If this works, I suspect it would help with the off-idle stumble, lower-gears electronic throttle nanny, and throttle damping. My theory would be that Yamaha might be disabling some/all of the throttle damping and throttle ramping associated with the traction control system and S/T throttle modes to assist in starting. (And doing a damn poor job of it what with the starting issues on this bike.) I'm VERY skeptical of new fuel maps, changes in mileage, or more peak horsepower. Anxiously awaiting dyno charts.

I am not sure we will see much change on a dyno chart? It makes my bike run and respond like it should without delays or stumble. In doing so it may just feel it is pulling harder? (My butt tells me it is, due to the front lifts with ease now) It reminds me of getting a bike jetted right.
I have a switch on mine and in 5th or 6th gear I can tell the difference with it on or off in those gears also. T-mode is more close to S-mode now when switched on but I still have a difference in response/hit.

So far I have no down sides to this mod except a small change in MPG but well worth it. On long hauls I can always switch it off.

On mine I like it much , much more on than switched off. ::013::

I agree, there is more to how a bike runs than a dyno chart. But the dyno will separate the "better throttle response" benefit (which is somewhat plausible) from the "instantly 15 more free hp" benefit (which is not).

Who is doing the dyno run and when are results expected?

I was talking with my dealer today (sounds like a drug problem?) and he is pretty cool about it all. I mentioned that there was a possibility or this kicking out more power, to which he replied, "bring on the 2nd gear roll on wheelies". I said I wasn't keen on it, he replied give it a chance, get more power. He offered to have his service department bump my CO, TPS, and APS numbers to help it be a more kickA$$ bike. So, either way it goes, I am looking for the proof first but my local yamaha dealer says to give it.

Placebo are an English alternative rock band from London. They were formed in 1994 by singer-guitarist Brian Molko and guitarist/bassist Stefan Olsdal. ???

That's one of the very few things I've missed about my old Vee. It was a much better roll on wheelie bike than the S10. I'm going to have to dig up a fuse and give this a try.

Wire in a momentary switch on the clutch switch and try it anytime while riding in any conditions right at the touch of the button. With a momentary, it only works while you hold it down. You will notice a difference, especially at lower rpm's in all gears. Instant fuel economy read out drops value, responsiveness increases and the fun increases. Not so much of a noticeable difference in Sport mode, but there is a difference.....and a bigger smile.

I was looking at the ECU reflash but now quite keen to try this out. If it works you could have a wires drawn from under the clutch to an extra switch on handlebar. Turn it on and circuit is shorted giving you the extra smoothness. turn it off and you are back to normal....

Spare fuses x 2 in the fuse box. (Labeled SPARE ;))
Just wondering if this link just eliminates the soft (rough) response we experience in the first 3 gears. As for the clutch lever having any effect, I generally don't use the clutch, except for a start from stationary, so the ECU must be picking up info from the gearbox to know I am in 4th gear.

After a few days of commuting with the clutch bypass on I am loving the roll- off from a light or stop without the stumble and feel like it wants to stall.
I am going to install a switch so I can select to have it off for the hyway.

Do you think the reflash is doing this same thing?

Is anyone seeing more smoke from their exhaust with this mod? Wonder what the plugs look like ...

Sounds to me like the low speed performance maybe attributable to the ECU dumping more fuel into the cylinders at low RPM, causing a richer mixture ...

I dont know what is being bypassed to do that, or what the ECU thinks maybe happening to do that (does it think it has more airflow, necessitating more fuel to retain mapped air/fuel mixture?)
