Tom Dowell has finally released his Gen II Excel Throttle Lock for the S10. Mine came a couple of days ago and I installed it last night. I'm very impressed with the build quality of the unit. Seems like it's made to last as long as the bike. Installation was quick and easy with the only 'tedious' thing being getting the initial drag adjustment right. This entailed installing the unit (one bolt), checking the drag, removing the unit and making a very easy adjustment and reinstalling. Repeat until just right. All in all a 10 to 20 minute install.

Operation is exceptionally smooth. Very easy to hold throttle at desired opening and use your pinky finger to pull up on the the comfortable ball lever. Easy to override the drag once engaged and to disengage with your pinky or heel of your hand. I also like how the ball lever is protected behind the hand guard.

It's quite pricey (what would expect for something popular with the BMW crowd) but is much easier to operate and set than my $20 Go Cruise.

I'd have to take your word on that cause the Go Cruise is frigin simple to operate, and like you say, much cheaper.
I just don't like throttle locks that you have to turn ON and OFF. Go Cruise you only have to turn on (set) and pretty much off automatically.

I just need to eventually get a 2014 with cruise built in, can't beat that!

If you think this is a big cost over the go-cruise then you're really going to be impressed with the cost to go to a '14 to get cruise! :)

I had electronic cruise on my FJR and would really like to have it again. Best of all worlds. However, not willing to pay the kind of money I'd need to pay to move up to the '14 yet. We'll see what Yamaha throws out there in the next couple of years to sweeten the pie.

Glad to hear he is making them again.

First class gent making first class device. It is clearly a labor of love when you get one up close in your hands.
I rarely need or use it. But is works flawlessly.

And you do NOT have to "turn it off" to make a quick adjustment to throttle manually. You can fine tune it to perfection for your taste.

None of them do you have to "turn it off" to make a quick adjustment to throttle manually",
but you do have to turn them off to stop them working. Very few turn off automatically, like the go Cruise. ::017::

Hi! I'll be getting the go cruise. Should I get the 7/8in or the 1in? Thanks!
