Good morning, has anyone else experienced increased vibration throught the bars with a ROX 2" riser? I use Faast Flexx bars as well but when I moved them from the standard mount on the triple clamp to the risers I get a nasty little vib at highway speeds. Oh, and yes I just balanced the throttle bodies. I use a power commander and gpr exhaust but that shouldn't really matter as it had that stuff on before I used the risers.

It's a spring/mass/damper system. Technically speaking, ANY change to ANYTHING in the system can result in vibrations. They are always there, it is just a matter of whether you feel them or not.

Try changing something. Move your levers in/out a TINY bit. Rotate the bars a TINY bit. Move the Rox Risers in the original bar mounts a TINY bit.

I have Roxy 2" pivots and Flex Bars. (& Jaxons extended lines)

I didn't notice anything annoying from vibration.
Solved all my ergo issues. (Wrist-shoulders-back)
Perfect for standing!

I do have different grips. And my motor is well broken in. (30,000+)

::008:: I run this same set-up and as you say it is the perfect fix for the ergos and I also do not notice any excessive vibrations. ::014::

Do you have a photo of these risers on the bike ? Are these the model I see advertised for $80 ? The reason I ask I also am interested in installing them and I assume even though some install new bars the stock bars fit the risers OK

Thanks Doug

Or you could just do what RonH did. Add a vibration canceling GPS. :)
(But don't consider it a farkle)

Seems like if Yamaha thought their adventure bike should have a GPS, they would have equipped it with one.

Are you using the barend weights? Loosen and re-torque the Rox and handle bars in the proper sequence.

Not too long ago I noticed a little mirror distortion. Checked my Rox mount and sure enough one of the bolts was loose.

I put on the risers with the rubber dampers. They've really helped to reduce the vibration. There is always some vibration but I find it a much more pleasant vibration.

Can't see if you have bar-end weights. Looks like a lot of bolts that could be loosened and re-torqued.

I have to stock bar end on the left and an excel throttle control on the right. I suppose I can re-torque all the bolts again but I'm not sure if it will fix my problem. It's by far the worst between 70-80 mph which is right at 4000 -4500 rpm.

Again, you and I have very similar setups. All the way down to the Excel throttle lock.
And although this big twin vibrates compared to, say, an FJR,.....mine goes dead smooth at 4100 RPMs. In fact, my favorite cross-west-Texas rpm range is 4100-4500.

It's pure heaven right in that sweet spot.

Something ain't right.

However, I have switched from oem grips to oem with grip puppies, and now just run some Progrip 714's. (no grip puppies)

Also note I used the metal bar end threaded inserts. Not nylon.

Vibrations can be affected by the tiniest things.

If you think it is RPM related... stay in 5th gear and go to the same RPM and see if it gives the same feedback. If not it might be MPH related.
