I found this laying under my S10 In the garage. Does anyone recognize this as a part on the bike?

Comes from underneath the seat. Often removed to level the seat and replaced with a similar, but not as thick, part.

That is not it. Here is a picture of the seat bumper (left) next to the mystery bumper. It is smaller in every dimension.

Check for missing rubber stoppers for your center stand. There are two different sized ones. Put stand in up position and easy to find the contact places where they hit.

Could be the little bumper between the side plastic and gas tank. They have been known to having been found on the floor. BTDT

I found something similar under my 2013 S10 (not sure if it's the same but found it under similar circumstances). It turned out to be the gromet where the right side panel (battery side) fits in. To fit the panel you first press its centre into a groment and then turn the four easy-fit screws. When I removed the panel I must have pulled out the gromet with it rather than pulled the panel out of the gromet.

Some BMW guy dropped it while sabotaging a reliable motorcycle.
A forensic investigation discovered the words "made in Japan" on the part. That theory is out.

I am going out to the garage in a few minutes. I will check the other suggestions and report back. Thanks, guys.

Thanks to everyone who posted suggestions. Here is an update. I am still trying to identify this bumper.

It is not the grommet… I checked. This bumper does not have a hole through the center.

there is something like that between the left side panel and the exhaust silencer on my 2013 s10
Not this either. I checked the parts fiche and those have a hollow center. This bumper is solid.

When I checked the parts fiche, I was sure this was it. However, both side bumpers are still in place.

I also checked the bumper on the center stand and that is still there. WTF!!

I think it's the side stand bumper, look just under the left peg, there should be one there to stop the side stand hitting metal...... ::017::

At this stage you should stop worrying. Keep the rubber and sooner or later you will find out where it's missing from. It's very unlikely that you will cause any damage riding without it.

I checked and that bumper is there... and much bigger than the mystery bumper.

I am not losing sleep over it. However, I would like to know where it came from.

You may be a lucky owner of an extra one! On my 2007 R1 engine, there was an extra head bolt washer rattling around in there for a year or so since she came here from Japan, found it in a valve check session..
don't be surprised.!
