I have been emailing back and forth with Duane from PCA very nice guy btw and he is willing to take a crack at making a passenger backrest for the S10 but needs good pics of the rack. I would like to email him some but not sure where I can get the pics. This backrest would be good for guys not running a center box or want the option of removing the box and putting a backrest on for pax comfort. Duane makes them for the FJR as well as other parts for the S/T market. Any help is appreciated. He would eventually like to take a look at a S10 so anyone in the Ohio area when you bike comes maybe you could help him out and help us out. Thanks

Excellent it may be awhile I really think he needs to see the bike in person even he said looking at pics he is limited in what he can do. When the time comes in May hopefully someone that lives close to him can help out.

I too would be interested in a passenger backrest. My wife rides with me often, and I wasn't to keen on buying a top case. With one of these, I can go with soft luggage and my wife will be one happy camper with the backrest.

Add me to the list. My wife refuses to ride on the back of a bike unless it has a back rest. I'm located in Van Wert, Ohio, which is on the western edge, between Lima, Ohio and Fort Wayne, Indiana. I ordered my S10 on 9/18/10 so I should be relatively close to the top of the delivery list. I'd be glad to let Premier Cycle Accessories take a look at my S10 when I get it, but I've never heard of them and don't know where in Ohio they're located.

Edit: I just Googled them, and they're about 3 1/2 to 4 hours from me. I might be willing to ride over to their shop (great way to get through the break-in period) but they would need to make it worth my while (free back rest?).

I wonder if they would be willing to comp you a backrest for riding all that way? I would think that would be the fair thing to do plus they would have the assurance that orders are pending once the back rest is complete. Maybe when the time comes we can work something out with Duane. Let's stay in touch on this I don't want to let it go by the wayside. Thanks for the offer btw.

Just received this message from Duane on Friday 03-04-11 this is good news:

Hi Vince,

I got a look at one of these bikes at the Dealer show in Indy a couple weeks
ago. I think I can get this done without having a bike present. I would
say it will probably be towards the end of April before a prototype is
ready. I would be incorporating the capability of mounting a Givi top case
on it including their new Aluminum boxes that are being released soon. It
will also have the ability to hold the Rotopax gas cans and of course our
optional passenger backrest. To be clear the backrest will not be able to
be used when a Givi topcase is mounted to the rack.

Thank You,

Duane

I sent Duane another message for clarification because it sounds to me like he is developing a whole new rear rack for the S10 not sure though.

Am I reading this to mean that GIVI is releasing aluminum boxes??? ???

That's what it sounds like to me Rod, they would probably look good on the Super 10 wouldn't they? I think that's why I'm drawn to the OEM style I like the looks of the alum boxes but the cost is high. I did receive 15% off from my local dealer which helps some. Tony O is offering 17% off but shipping from TX to VA blows the savings.

Interesting!!! I think I will be very happy with my Trekkers, but the idea of aluminum GIVI bags is certainly of interest!

I will likely order some OEM stuff from Tony, unless my local dealer will "work with me"......... :)

I wonder if he is referring to the aluminum clad Trekkers? I talked to the Givi folks about the Trekkers at the Indy show and they didn't mention anything about new aluminum boxes coming out.

Perhaps so! I would almost bet that is the case.

BTW, I still owe you some pictures on how the Trekkers line up on the SW-MOTECH racks (been a little hectic here and have not made it out to unpack the racks again).
