Hello all. Been lurking on this forum for quite some time, and lusting after a Super Ten for several years but this morning I finally did it. Pulled the trigger and bought a 2015 ES... 30,000 miles, one owner, very well taken care of. $9600 out the door which I thought was fair. Red of course, because everyone knows the red ones are the fastest. ::025:: The ride home was about 90 miles of hilly freeway (SoCal). Wow, what a bike. Amazing. I had never ridden one before and was expecting it to be somewhat heavy at low speeds. But nope, I found it to be quite nimble.
Before today, I've been riding an FJ1200. (Actually, I have 4 of them. Yes, I'm an addict.) The FJ is a wonderful bike, tremendous power and poise but the it's just physically too small for my 35-inch inseam. The Tenere gives me enough room to stretch out. Very comfy. And the cruise control? Heaven. That would have been handy last summer when I rode my FJ to Ouray, then Leadville, Colorado. I took 7 days to get there, but came back (SoCal) in one day... 930 miles in 17 hours. I'm sure the Tenere will be much more comfortable for those kind of trips.
Anyway, this is my long-winded way of saying Hello. I think I'm really going to enjoy this bike. Now all I have to do is figure out all those buttons...
