So, I wandered into my local Yamaha dealer about two weeks ago and saw a beautiful raven S-10 on the showroom floor that had just been put together the day previous. I must say it was love at first sight and I bought it on the spot. Made them take my first generation Triumph triple in trade - (Sprint 900 with 43,000 miles on the clock.) The Triumph was very reliable but was a butt killer for the long rides. I now have about 400 miles on the S-10 and could not be happier with my purchase. At first I thought the S-10 was a bit lacking in the throttle response department, but when I took a ride with a couple of friends on sport bikes I realized that it is a bit of an illusion because of the effortless power delivery - you find that you are riding and carving twisties much faster than you think. I did not give much thought to using it for off road - I bought it for a long haul touring bike. I may have to rethink that when the opportunity presents itself. I have installed SW Motech side racks and have a set of Givi Trekker side cases on order. Just about to order a Hepco - Becker lower engine guard. I found a nice tail bag as I don't much care for tank bags and will soon be ready for some long rides. I am looking for some LED running lights but have not found exactly what I want yet. Planning a ride thru the Northwest, Glacier park and up into Canada this summer. If you are thinking about getting an S-10, DO IT! You won't be disappointed. This forum was extremely helpful for finding my farkle and I would like to thank you all. I live in Phoenix AZ if anyone wants to ride, but am not home as much as I would like.

Welcome on, doglegg from Harry Zona. Sounds like you're happy with your purchase. Good stuff. And you've already begun the farkle experience. Glad to have you aboard. By the way, I'm gonna move you to Member Intros so you don't get missed as a new member ... at least I think I am. Hang on to your handlebars ... this should be painless.

Welcome aboard and congrats on the new SuperT!!! Any chance you will make it up as far in the YT as Whitehorse? We have a heck of an event planned there for late June and early July!!!

Welcome aboard from another Phoenician! If you don't mind my asking, which dealership did you purchase from?

I'm in the same boat; I'm traveling for work (which usually involves air travel) as much as I am at home. As I write this, I am in a meeting room somewhere high up in the Rockies...

Thank You all for your kind and welcoming comments. I ordered my Trekkers nearly a month ago from Twisted Throttle but they still have not shipped - is there some worldwide shortage?
Another good reason to buy the Yamaha is the chance to meet some of you friendly riders and share stories.

To ColoRider: I had not thought about the Whitehorse trip but would love to ride on up if I can make the time. I lived in Alaska for 9 years and this is the perfect bike for a trip up the Alaska hwy all the way to Fairbanks and beyond. (or take the ferry boat if I get tired of the foul weather.)

To AvGeek: Bought the bike from Ride Now in Peoria, formerly Metro Motorsports.

To any Arizona folks: I would be more than happy to ride any time I am around - Arizona has great year round riding, although the summers can be a bit hot in the low country - the high country is cooler and only 1 hour away.
I'm trying to not get too carried away on the farkle and stick with the basics, but you know how one thing leads to another.......

Welcome. I also have trekkers, and like them.
