I've owned three Bavarian autos (all Audi) zero complaints - especially about the S4 wagon I had - 4.2 liter V8, AWD, 6-speed, sport-wagon was an awesome sleeper.

Wife put 150,000 trouble-free miles on her A6... VW/Audi make a fine product IMHO...

so far so good.
My outgoing tdi was bought second hand with 75km. I doubled that with no real issues to speak of.
My wife's 2012 was bought brand new 22km on it now with no issues.
Fuel economy is out of this world, great 'real world' power. I tow my tenere with it without breaking a sweat

they are very well finished cars. they do have some quirks, but nice and understated.
I see some 17 or 18 summer tires in my future....

The brown looks good, lots of metallic flake in it, so it shines when the sun hits it.

I assuming by the smilies you know that the Golf wagon and the Jetta sportwagon are the same right? Just different names for different countries...

Blasphemy! There is a major difference between the Jetta "sport"wagon and the Golf TDI.

Mexican POS is completely different from German POS with chipped negative cut keys. Fookers! $200 for a key?! Piss off you wankers!

No, I do not have issues with VW... Well, maybe a few. Damn nice car, that Golf TDI, if a little noisy. Great mpg. Ironically, I sold it to do a multi-day motorcycle rally. No regrets.

Of course, if the Germans had any balls at all, they'd sell the 3-liter Lupo here.

3 liter Lupo??? did you mean 1.3 liter Lupo?

Of course the Golf and the Jetta Sportwagon are different. If countries other than the US the Jetta Sportwagon is the Golf Sportwagon. The car sitting sideways in his picture I belive to be a Jetta Sportwagon/Golf Sportwagon

Oh and http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2013/01/25/vw-golf-g7-mexico/1863635/

Kids!! 3-Liter refers to the amount of diesel it uses to go 100 kms, not the displacement of the engine. Where have you been hiding? ;)

The jetta wagon had a huge fuel tank. The Golf is more my size, but I'd prefer a Lupo. Have to make do with a Smart For Two since we can't get good diesel cars in the US.
