Does anybody know if it is possible to replace an old version crown with steering bar holder to a new version where some special damper (rubber) was used to reduce vibrations ? Maybe there is someone who is able to say something about differences betwen both systems ?

If this is for a 2012-13, to reduce vibration, you could replace the Clutch Basket and Cam Chain Tensioner, Sync the Throttle Bodies, and service the Steering Head. Replacing the forks and steering head would be way too costly.

this is similar to Yamaha solution, both use rubber as isolator (part 11, pic. 2).
Thx... I will try to get some information from Yamaha. If I get answer I will share it.

No need to rebuild an engine. Clutch Basket and CCT are $400ish for parts then the labor unless you can get your dealership to warranty the labor.

To replace the crown I need to know two parameters (I hope).
Distance between outer tubes and their diameter. I assume that there isn't modifications in elements of steering head.
Will see.... :lamp:

Heavier handle bar end weights can help. The OEM ones look rather small. It seems like the hand guards could be moved outward a little bit to accommodate slightly heavier (longer) ones. HVMP make some nice ones, but it doesn't appear they have any for the Super Tenere. Might we worth contacting them.

The front wheel axle and the bottom triple are both common to Gen1 and Gen2 so you ought to cover it with swapping the upper clamp and associated parts.

Winter period is good time for working... finally I decided to buy upper crown and clamps and replace with old parts. New parts are expensive..... I bought used ones. Everything fits, just "plug and play", the hardest part of working is dismounting of main switch (special secure bolts are used).
Additionally I designed and printed 3D switches panel for operating accessory lights and switching display, the same function like left and right button but now available from a handle bar.
THX for all for suggestions and help !

OooooH aaahhhh

I like your buttons and handle bar mount.
which button switched do you use?
Have you got plans for a switch mount to fit Gen 2 2014+ bikes? Maybe a bracket for the inside of switch gear (not like your pic on outside of switch gear)?

Please post a thread as I am interested and I am sure others will be too.

Cheers

Manic Salamander handlebar weights. Changes the vibration frequency and improves the feel. I installed the one pounders on the Tenere. Unfortunately, I just did a Google search and they don't seem to have a working web site any more.
