How much did your first valve adjustment service cost?

Hey there fellow Tenereres... I dropped my bike (black 2012) off at my dealer yesterday to have the first valve adjustment service done. They have sold very few Teneres there and the mechanic admitted that they had yet to perform the 42,000 KM valve service on a ST. I have read the threads on this forum and know that there are many trips and tricks that can be used to ease what is actually a fairly tricky service. Unfortunately for me, my mechanic might be learning on my job. So, I'm wondering if those of you who have had this service done at a dealer could tell me what the charge ended up being so I can gauge whether or not I'm paying for the service or for on the job training as well! Much appreciated.

Somewhere close to $300-350. Had a couple other things done at the same time. Mechanic had no issues and this was the first Tenere he had done. When I replaced my plugs I vowed to never do my own valves. They are WAY down there under the tank, air box, etc.

About the same for me, $300ish US dollars. The fun is in getting the valve cover off, after that it's just like any other newer Yamaha and they should have no issues. If the tech has done any Yamaha sport bikes or the FJR, they will have no problem with the Super Ten.

I paid $330 with 4 plugs and T/B synch....first Tenere for my local dealer as well...but experienced mechanic had no problems, tricky job for sure keeping new gasket intact.I've always done my own valves on other bikes, just did'nt want the hassle. $300 was cheap I thought...
