Just curious how comfortable your passengers find your S10. An hour? A couple hours? More? How long until they complain?

If I sold the Tenere she would divorce me, she can sit on it all day long every day.
She did good in her early pregnancy as well, but eight hours was too long by then.

In Australia. (a rental)

She sat back there for 10 hours this day and sang in her helmet while it rained.
Pretty sure she was comfortable and enjoying herself.

The wife hasn't spent a lot of time on my '14 ES -- neither have I! -- but she believes it will be comparable in comfort to the FJR (with Sargent seats) it replaced. I did have to purchase and mount a padded backrest on the front of the top case for her, however.

Very good, but IMO (The Mrs opinion) needed a bit more foam in the seat, with that it was pretty damn fine for a couple of 3,000 mile tours ::008::

I've been tempted to take my wife on a 'wing but really afraid to. Made our own backrest pad for the top box. Added a hunting seat cushion during a trip which helped. Then bought the extended pegs (because of a knee surgery). Now on long rides she falls asleep...... Threatened to bungee her to the box:). I don't understand it? All the cool scenery on the boring hwys.... But when I took her on some horse trails down in MO, then she was wide awake and enjoying the views. She loves TN, smokey mountains. She rode with me on the Tail of the Dragon twice ... and was videoing the ride. I'd say they'll enjoy it if you work a little to get them comfortable and maybe some coffee.

I have a LAAM custom pilot and passenger seat on mine and did a 4000 mile trip in 8 days. multiple back to back 600-700 mile days. My friend said she could have kept going. Loved it compared to my 2003 VFR800

Oem one was very good for my wife, but this one was a game changer. Custom made to fit her skinny arse.

Now she can sit back there all day long, with no complaints.

Hi, this is Michelle. Steve wanted me to get on here and share my thoughts about our vacation. First off, the Tenere. The Tenere is an awesome bike, just right for our type of riding style. Before hand Steve ordered me a Seat Concepts seat. I had a Corbin which was great except the leather was slick and I was always sliding all over and off it. The Seat Concepts seat was a perfect choice and very comfortable the entire trip, even those long days. Our days weren't quite as long as I expected we would have to ride each day. We were usually camped by 6:00, in bed by 9:00, and up again at 5:00, so had a good 8 hours of sleep each night. We had purchased new air mattresses and 20 degree sleeping bags we could zip together so I could steal Steve's heat when it got cold at night. We also purchased a Moto Fizz tail bag which worked out great also. It is very easy to load when picking up camp and it was also my back rest when riding which helped tremendous. Even with the Tenere loaded the ride and suspension was extremely smooth. We had put on Mitas tires also which was a first for us. I was very impressed. No howling or road noise, and the bike felt very secure in tight corners. We did some off road riding, fully loaded, which was very fun and very scenic. This was a nice change every so often. The most scenic part of our trip had to be the canyon leading into Hyder, Alaska. The mountains were a lush green with waterfalls everywhere you looked. It was beautiful. We rented a hotel room in Hyder. This was a necessity for me as I do not sleep in a tent with grizzlies around!!! We were fortunate to see quite a bit of wild life along the roads and had very good weather, although slightly cool in the mornings. Over all this trip was excellent and I am so glad we were able to go. We put on 6850 miles in 2 weeks. I was very concerned before we left because looking at the map we had a lot of area to cover but it really didn't seem like we had to ride all that hard. We avoided interstates which helped a lot and took more scenic back roads. Would I turn around and do it tomorrow? No, but Steve probably would :)

I have the Seat Concepts and my wife likes it as well. The grip is good with a little lift in front; she is less likely to shift forward when braking.

The original seat is about flush height with the handles and angles in towards the rear. That can be sore for some if the person is a tad wider and heavier, causing to sink in and make contact with the handles. The Seat Concepts is like a pan. I like the extra cushion so it compresses when I place anything large across the rack and seat and secure with Rok Straps. It stays put.

Made a couple long trips last summer with the wife, one of which was for a ride in LAAM seat. Her feedback is the Tenere is a very comfortable ride, almost better for a pillion than my beloved FJR. :( Along with a properly sprung Penske, the long travel suspension provides a great ride. Biggest negative for her [at 5'2"] is getting on with Holan panniers in place. To overcome that, we are quite adept at finding 6" curbs for an extra "leg up".

My wife is tall with long legs (35" inseam). Once I did the Seat Concepts change and added the footpeg lowering brackets (Motorcycle Larry FJR1300) it gave her enough leg room. It took a while to get the trunk box in just the right spot, but that's all sorted out now.

Now she can ride all day in comfort, as long as it is over 70 degrees ;)

Putting "pillion comfortable" into the home screen search box shows 29 prior threads. Everything from Seat Concepts recovers, to how to flatten the stock seat, to the various numbers of hours that our pillions will do in the saddle.

Happy reading.
