On my 17 the left hand pipe appears to be running much hotter than the the right as in very blued. Any suggested fix?
I know I need to check temp but the obvious is the pipe discoloration difference.Fact or assumption? It needs measuring with an IR thermometer.
If proven significant, then the first thing to check will be the TBs, as WJB says.
Otherwise, air leaks, a bad coil, valve clearances - probably an OBD bike, so have you checked for codes?
I have not checked for codes yet. going in for brake switch recall so I'll have the shop check for codes. the bike runs fine no stalling some jerkiness at a steady throttle in lower gears is the only complaint. I'm going to have to go for a reflash I'm sure.Fact or assumption? It needs measuring with an IR thermometer.

yes the trex skid plate does block more of the pipe. Thinking about drilling more holes in the plate to lighten it anyway.Just had another thought. Is it usually the left pipe folks notice seems to run hotter? If so it seems a possible explanation might be that it's not as exposed to the air stream underway as the right one:
Service at a dealership found and corrected the tune?Possibly a crap flash? I know when I got mine done the technician was very surprised at the awful map it had. It was so lean it went off the chart!
