Whilst I haven't tried one ....yet, I do have the CTX as well as the F6B on the radar. Both seem well resolved baggers, look like great fun to ride &, given their roots, should be ultra reliable.

Neither bike is selling well here in the UK, but I was mulling over trading-in my pristine 1989 PC800 Pacific Coast for one or the other. Should provide a bit more punch, as the old PC doesn't really like 2-up work. There are several reviews on youtube, from which I sense the F6B is the better buy, but there are a few used micro-miles CTX1300s around, circa £9000 that look mighty tempting. Surely it can't hurt to try a demo for the afternoon? ;D

I looked at the CTX1300 too, but for the life of me cannot understand why Honda have not used the CTX 700 DCT box and installed cruise, what's the point of a 'cruiser' without cruise ::010::

I sat on the bike again today without actually going for a test ride. Just by the way that v4 engine is placed I truly believe that heat is a major problem in the summer. You're just too close to the top of the engine.

They seem to be showroom queens around here and dealers have them marked down to around $10K. Should be able to get a real bargain. Personally however, I think it a crime to castrate the ST1300's engine the way they did!

I rode my V-4 Royal Star for over a hundred K, the rear valve covers are inches from the inside of your thigh. Never had a heat issue. I have more heat off the Tenere than I ever did off the V-4.

I doubt heat is much of a problem on the CTX, tbh.

My old Electraglde, with it's rear exhaust right below my left leg - now that is what I call hot. Moto Guzzis too - my knees are right up against those hot cylinder heads.
