Just discovered the S10 two weeks ago and orderd one last saturday(feb. 19). Have been riding an XT 250 for 2 years and am making the BIG move to the tenere. Rode a Honda Pacific coast for ten years that I bought new in 1999. 1998 model. Plan on mostley blacktop and some forest road riding. This is what I have been looking for. The price is good. Thanks to all for this forum and all the good information! Shuhite.

Welcome Shuhite!

My older brother was an avid PC800 rider. His tales of adventure are what got me interested in riding again.
Unfortunately he passed away before I got a chance to ride with him and it was this which made me realize life is too short, act now!

I wish us all many happy adventures on our new S10's. :)

Shuhite,

Welcome to the forum. My wife is on her second PC and a dear friend of ours owned one until the NT700V became available in the US. I plan to use my S10 in a similar fashion as you. I think that Yamaha ha s a winner on their hands!

Hi all. Thanks for the welcome. Jeff, I live about 20 miles west of Eugene. I enjoyed the PC 800. Sold it two years ago and started looking for a dual sport. The BMW GS was what I was looking at but just did not want to spend that kind of money. when I saw the tenere I was hooked. Now the wait. I can't imagine what its been like to wait since September! It's only been five days for me and i'm already getting impatient. Sorry to here about your brother Kev. We only get one chance here so enjoy those that you love and have patience with those you don't. Shuhite.

Welcome! (from a half-time Oregonian).

I see that you ordered your S10 from just up the coast from where mine will be arriving. Bought mine at Bay Area Yamaha in North Bend.

See ya on the road (or trail)!

Hi Stevespd. I talked to Ron at Bay Area Yamaha about the S10. He seems like a real good guy on the phone. I went ahead and ordered my bike from Florence Yamaha because it was closer, and the price was about the same. Ron does seem to have more information about the S10. I think he said he had 8+ orders! A friend of mine here in Eugene also ordered one from Florence Yamaha. Just got my order #181650. Looks like I have a long wait! When they start ariving in North Bend I would sure like to look at one?!?!? Keep in touch. Do you know DAFOOL from Oregon?

Shuhite from Oregon.

Hey Shuhite,

Ordered mine S10 on the 1st day (actually about 20 minutes after they were announced, order #155952)...so I hope mine will be one of the first delivered.. :)

Ron is a great guy, and I have sent 3 or 4 others to him to buy their S10's, including DaFoole (who I have never met).

Maybe we can have a Southern Oregon S-10 gathering when all the bikes arrive!

Welcome Super Tenereian Shuhite,

Honda Pacific Coast may have been a under-rated motorcycle. I have friends that have put over 80,000 miles on a Pacific Coast with no problems.
Hope you enjoy this forum as much as I.

Big Ed
