Well, first off hello and second I will be reading through the posts here to edumicate myself on what the owner experience of the Super Tenere can look like. I have been away from bikes for about 4-5 years now due to some physical ailments that made riding too much of a gamble and threw in the towel till matters were back in hand. I also went back to school during this time as my old job as a heavy equipment operator was compromised by my malfunctioning hands as well, the economy tanked just after I got out and a lot of folks asked if I knew something they didn't! Well now I'm done with school and was able to pull a job outta my ass, I am quite lucky and thankful for that, so my income is now heading back to what I was making moving dirt and my back/joint problems have gotten under control. I want to get back to riding! I have a 2005 Multistrada 1000s DS in the garage and that is going in to get gone over so I can get back on it but to celebrate the new career I am looking to get it a stablemate. I am a Ducati fan and the Multi is my second one and I have had very good luck with it, it is sort of a custom job built by T.J. who is the lead tech at Ducati Milwaukee. He is a very good mechanic and is straight forward about things. My Multi has an S4R swing arm and it has been massaged to ~105hp at the rear wheel last time it was on the dyno. It is quite a fun bike. I like the new ones as well, seems MUCH more refined and the seating feels MUCH better than on mine but I have been reading up on this S10 bike and I like what I've read so far. I am looking to do some longer trips mostly two up with two hard side bags and what not. One ride I need to get off of my list is out to my pop's place near Deadwood South Dakota and another one is out to my aunts place near Mount Washington in New Hampshire, others will be springing up. I don't see myself doing any real technical single track with whichever bike I choose, I leave that stuff to my mountain bike, but there is a lot of gravel roads and two track for me to explore out by my dads place as well as the ranches I have axcess to to go blasting around on. This S10 bike looks like it may be a good match for this, I am going to be commuting on it as well as far into winter as I can go. How do these bike react to cold weather? I had an 03 KTM Adventure 950 a ways back and that bike I rode damn near all winter, it could care less how cold it was. I will be looking for a dealer near Milwaukee to have one of these for me to get a test ride on and as I said earlier I will be reading through here to see what owning one of these may be like. If I dive into one of these the blue is obviously the choice color ;) I will probably throw some farkle at it and I do like to do some of the wrenching on my bikes, I will do all of the wrenching on my trucks and cars but some moto stuff I leave to those that are better than I. This was long winded but thanks in advance for any answers I get in the future as I ask them.

Welcome on, MTT .... I can vouch for the fact that the Tenere does just fine in cold weather. No worries there. You will be fine with it, and a fine bike it is. You might want to re-think that colour choice .... I'M MESSIN' WITH YOU ......... Good luck - I hope you end up with one soon. ::004:: R. ::022::

Actually I like the black but my Duc is black and my 4Runner is black my Newfie is black, I feel like a change. Glad to hear cold weather is of no concern I like riding in Dec-Feb if the roads are decent. The more I read the more I see what my first Japanese bike is going to be. Stoked. The Zega Pro panniers look nice, I feel a big void in my wallet forming.

Welcome to the forum Ryan!!! I've ridden both places you mentioned, although not on my SuperT. I'm in the Deadwood area right now on a little mini-vacation. Great area to ride motorcycles, hike, bike ride, whatever.

Also, BLUE is the color choice!!

I agree with snuffcityrider. Blue is definitely safer because of the slow factor. Black is for rugged, manly men who like fast bikes and fast women. Welcome to the forum.

I'm usually in my truck when out in Deadwood with the dogs, all I do is think "oh that looks like a fun run, oh and that way too." Lived in Colorado Springs for a bit as well, working on getting moved back out to some mountains, living by a big lake is a waste when your not into boats.

Welcome aboard Tater Tots. It sounds like the S10 may be the motorbike for you. Looking forward to hearing about your first impressions when you get a test ride. :)
