Enjoy. I have had mine since 2012 and put 14000 miles up which I was told recently is too much? ::009::Apparently 3500 is the average for a motorcycle? ::009:: I say ::021:: though was told that residuals wil not be so good.

Anyway enjoy your new bike. Is it the 2014 model or a 2013 plate?

Ah v-strom.co.uk, the land of the "You've got this wrong Suzuki, I'm out" thread.

Are they still storming the Suzuki castle with pitch and arrows? Seems the natives have become a bit restless.

Thanks guys.

About 400 miles in and I'm loving it but wishing I could rag it a bit more. 600 mile service booked for Tuesday.

I find it just a bit lumpy keeping it under 4k whilst trying to climb hills at 60mph plus, I'm sure it will be better in a lower gear with more revs. It is much faster and more stable through corners than the vstrom even though the vstrom had road tyres on it.

The seat is about as comfortable; I start to have to shift around after about an hour and a half. Protection from the elements is much better than the vstrom.

The only thing I miss on the vstrom is the better mpg. I'm getting about 47mpg (imperial) on the S10 at the moment.

interesting - true on the mpg - the v-strom (650 at least) had stunning economy figures.

but oddly, i really miss the wind / weather protection of the v-strom 'BUT' - that is only because my strom had a give airflow screen.

I'm going to get one for the s10 i think - the standard screen offers practically no wind protection, its like being on my zx6r.

I also understand that the side deflector things work very well.

I have a Givi Airflow on the S10 now, and thats better than the madstad plus standard Givi screen I had on the vstrom. The S10 gives more protection from the rain, especially the legs, but I also find my chest and arms not getting as wet, maybe thats the Givi.
