Hi, Long time Yamaha rider (25+ years), last ten years XT 660 only, but need to upgrade to either MT 07 Tracer / Honda NC 750 (sucks that fuel tank refuel nozzle is under pillion seat, but great fuel consumption, or XT 1200 as primary transport. Have long been looking at the XT 1200 and here to learn more from owners as I'm looking for a low maintenance, low running cost motorcycle with decent fuel consumption. The MT 07 Tracer I could perhaps put some dual tires on, but perhaps more limited for gravel riding than the XT 1200 even though it makes up 5 - 10% only of my riding and due to needing it for primary transport, the sacrifice I'd have to make not having to ride off road with friends on occasion is something I'm thinking about as I enjoy going hiking and camping, etc too and load up with camping stuff or even a blow up boat, which seems less practical for the Tracer perhaps, but more able than the road MT07 version at least.

Groete uit die Kaap.. I notice you mention consumption, I am logging my consumption and over the last 6,806km used 370.43 l = 5.44l/100km or 18.37 km/l. I $ terms it equals 0.07 USD per km (R1.22/km). I am happy with that.

Welcome, from Texas. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the T-12.
Thannks, I'm sure I won't from tubeless, power, comfort point of view.

I self service though and the valve adjustment sounds overwhelming when I don't always have the space to work and expertise. Where the NC 750X or XT660 has simpler valve adjustment and slightly heavier fuel economy than currently.

Dankie vir jou antwoord, dit klink nie sleg as mens kyk na die gemak en ekstra krag. Maar as ek vergelyk met NC 750X wat dalk oor 30p/l kan kry is dit kort termyn oorweegende faktor.
