Hello Guys.

I have been hankering after one of these beasts for quite a while now. But they are just too damn expensive over here. Then a 6month old World Crosser came up for sale last week for reasonable money. Road it, loved it, had to have it. Took my trusty Bandit 1250 for it's last ride Friday and road home on my new steed. Weather rank yesterday, not much better today, but going for a ride anyway. First mod, get an adapter plate to mount my big old Givi box on the back, then crash bars then who knows?? Will post pics when I can......

Hi Jeff from over in Australia.

I too had to think hard about splashing the cash.

In my case I am glad I did. Usually after this amount of time owning a bike there are a few things that are just pissing me off about it.

Not this one. Still come back with a smile after a ride. Short ride, long ride, tar ride, dirt ride, it doesn't seem to matter.

I hope your experience is the same.

Welcome on, mugrunch. Congrats on the new (to you) bike. And a Crosser to boot. Good stuff. Yes, pics would be most appreciated. Hope the rain stops soon. ::004:: to the Forum. R ::022::

Welcome Jeff, from the Midlands - Worcester, UK. You won't regret it. I've had mine just over a year and it is a great, go anywhere, bike. May see you around somewhere in the summer

Thanks for the warm welcome guys,

I'm sure I've made the right choice, British bike press don't reckon that much, but what do they know.

The clutch mod sounds interesting, think I'll wait for the warranty to expire first, I can't understand why Yamaha would restrict their bikes when all the competition are trying to squeeze as much bhp as poss from their mills.

Hope to meet up with you, whenever.

All the best, Jeff

You misunderstand, it only increases low rev power in lower gears - probably to get through emmisions and noise regulations.

Don't wait, you can "revert" the mod in 30 seconds and nobody would be able to tell, just grab yourself a stack more low down oomph right away ::008::

Because YAMAHA understand what makes a good all round motor and the British press want jacked up sports bikes so that can look cool.
People who choose the YAMAHA are cool, there is a difference. 8)

But seriously, I think maybe YAMAHA engineers watched the long way round and made copious notes not realizing that most BMW buyers bought a dream not a reality.

So the YAMAHA works in reality not in your dreams. ::024::
