Hi folks, Dave here in Cork, Ireland

I got myself a s/h XTZ 1200 last week in Scotland and rode it back home via Belfast where I got the local Yamaha dealer to fit a set of Oxford heated grips and they're lovely and toasty for frozen digits!

I am wondering if there are many owners over here in Ireland? I was thinking if there are some whom wish to pool together an order for various popular accessories, we could try and haggle for some discount from suppliers as its a costly affair. I looking to get SW Motech pannier and topbox rails for my existing Trax boxes. Also, crash/engine bar, a proper engine sump guard (frame mounted, NOT engine case mounted) and from what I've read on the forums maybe a Givi Airflow adjustable screen. I would be interested in buying these items s/h if anyone has them for sale too.

Thanks for reading, Dave.

welcome Dave,
greetings from Alberta Canada.
I doubt many vendors will be able to move on pricing for you, but if you combine shipping, that will save you some $$
enjoy the bike

Glad to have you aboard Dave!

My local Dealer here in the States didn't push enough S10 product to go for a "small" group discount but worth a try. My parts guys said less than 10 of anything didn't allow him the room to move on price.

Lovely riding you have over there. Rented a GS from Celtic Rider in Dublin and went off with my biker brother in laws for a 2 day blast. Love the roads. Not sure I'd buy an S10 over there maybe a Super Moto. Don't need the wonderful dirtability of the S10 there. We all love our S10s here and you will too. Wecome aboard! ::001::

Hello Dave and welcome to the forum from another Corkonian. I live near the village of Cloyne, Bought my Tenere nearly 30,000 km ago from JT Motorcycles and love it. I know of 2 0thers, 1 in Carrigtwohill and the other one in Saleen. Hope you enjoy your ride.

Hello back to the hellos I got!

Met up and went for a short spin with Riva today around the tri-county hills of Cork, Tipperary & Waterford and good fun it was too. Riding back to Cork city with the low setting sun at rush hour was no fun though.

I have a set of Motech pannier rails ordered for my Trax boxes so looking forward to getting back along the west coast routes again.

Regards to all, Dave

Hello eejit,

I spent a few weeks touring around your Island a few years ago with the family. Can't wait to go back and tour by motorcycle.

Enjoy your new bike.

Hi Dave

spent a good week over in Castlegregory a few years since with the guys from the Carpe-TDM forum. Great time was had by all despite the rain!. Still have the TDM but has now been supplemented with a S10.

Will get back there again one day

Shiney side up!

Welcome Dave from another Dave. My experience of riding in Ireland has been mostly in the Republic but my abiding memory was of the shocking state of the road surfaces. One of my friends actually BROKE his rear suspension. The S10 would definitely be the machine for those roads. Can't remember whether Ulster was as bad. Is it? Nevermind - any country that races on real road circuits gets my vote!

I always use Chainspeed for SW Motech stuff, fair prices and excellent customer service.

Worth a try if you struggle to get this stuff locally.
