Hey everyone,

Excellent forum! has really helped me make my decition. It has been a long process that got me to XT1200 vs Tiger 800xc, and to taking an extended test ride ::26:: this Saturday of an XT1200! All being well I will then discuss numbers with the dealer and sign on the dotted line.

First questions....
What realisticaly should I be able to get a new 2013 XT1200 for as standard with no accessories?
Can Anyone reccomend a dealer/deal in the South-East (UK)?

Thanks in advance to everyone.
Chris.

Welcome, sorry I can't help you with price. Unless you really just want a new one, I would look at buying a used farkled one for a lot less. Good luck with your purchase. Post some pictures up when you get her.

Welcome on, MoFarkle. Congrats on making the move toward a Tenere. You're gonna be blown away. I can't help you with price, but there are some UK members here who I'm sure will chime in soon. ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

Welcome. I actually had the Triumph 800 on my short list as well. In the end I too ended up on the S10 because it suited my needs better. Good luck with your search.

I think I was really lucky. My local Yamaha dealer was having a 1 day sale when I dropped in to have a look at a S10. I couldn't really refuse a new bike for the price of a used one. £8500 OTR ??? and I got a great P.ex. price on my old R1150.

Agree on checking out the used ones. You can get a lightly used Tenere with some goodies and save thousands.... which you'll then turn around even more stuff to put on it... ::008::

I know I did!! And I think there a some really good deals out there.... a few on this forum as a matter of fact. Or find one of the 2012 leftovers somewhere if you really want a new one.

Either way.... if you're like me..... You'll LOVE the Tenere!! Good luck with your choice!!

Thank you all for your welcome.

It does seem a better choice to get a slightly used one as there are some great deals to be had.

Now that the hard choice of which bike is done its time for a bit of price research.

Thanks again.

Hi Chris,
hope you find a good'n. I'm up in t'North and I see you're darn Sarth! I've had my XT a couple of years now and I'm a bit out of touch with prices. Mine was preregistered with 2 miles on the clock when I got it. About £1000 difference to a close dealership. There may also be regional price differences. I'll look around up here.

When I was shopping last year I got an awesome deal on an ex-dem with 150 miles on the clock from Slocombes Yamaha near Wembley.

Straight talking deal, no BS, no messing and at less than some dealers wanted for two year old bikes with 5k on the clock!

They also held the bike for 3 weeks (I did the deal 2 days before my wedding) and delivered it the day I got back off Honeymoon, and then come first service waived the bill for the oil.

Give them a call, they may not have the best deal, but I am fairly confident they will be honest about what they can and can't do.

All said it may be a case of searching the UK for an Ex-Demo, in my experience you won't get much more than £500 off a brand spanker in peak season, but may be able to find an ex demo for around the £10k mark (I paid £9.5k for mine)
