Just hoping my 1150gs sells soon. I've test rode a few things and decided on the s10. Most likely a 2013 I'll have have many questions I'm sure. Lots of great info already on this forum.

Welcome. I loved my 2002 R1150gs. I sold it in 2009 due to owed attorney fees from a nasty divorce. I had the 1150 & a 2005 FJR at the time & I needed to sell one or the other. I listed them both & was quite dissapointed when the GS sold first.

In 2012, I felt pretty healed up financially so I decided to go buy an R1200GS. My local Yamaha dealer challenged me to take a ride on the 2012 Super Tenere. Needless to say, I rode it home the next day. It's been a very good bike & I enjoy it very much.

Oh, yea, forgot all about that other bike from Germany..... ::013::

You'll love the bike. It is a nice upgrade from the R1150GS.

Sale is pending on my GS. Have a deposit at least so ready to shop. Found a 2012 locally with 1500 miles totally un-molested and includes a Alt Rider Crash bar which is still in the box. Is there any difference between a 12 and a 13? local dealers all seem to have one 13 left and asking 13,000, i'm hoping once the 14's show up they may go lower. Have never bought a new bike so this may be a first. Otherwise not a lot of S10's on the market. Thanks for the welcome and getting closer to be an actual owner here.

Offer the local dealers $11,000 or $11,500 and they just may take it.

12 & 13 are only color changes.
(MAYBE a difference on how the dash warning lights behave when bike starts up. But I haven't seen that confirmed)

A low mileage 12 is the same bike as a low mileage 13. Except for the depreciation.

Well I did it. Bought a 2012 Blue Super Tenere today. Now for the fun to build it up with the usual parts. Crash bars, skid plates, panniers. Any opinions on what to get?

Thanks,
-ss
