If someone ever needs to replace the ABS magnetic sensor on either of the wheels, it comes out of the box like this... It has this 'guard' on it... There is no description or reference of this guard. Just pop it off and bolt it on.. Incase you think you received the wrong part, you have the right one, but have to take off this guard. -Helpful hint-

So today I pop off the rear wheel to swap tires and notice the ring is worn smooth. The sensor shows no signs of scraping. Have no idea how it wore away. Completely smooth, all the lines are gone.
99,000 miles, first time seeing this. Weird. No lights on dash, I assume it is still working.

How did yours fail?

Some of the rings are notched looking and some are totally smooth... same part number for each...... This customer had a wheel bearing fail on the right side and the wheel 'crashed' into the everything and the pick up sensor wore on the magnetic circle......

This is what I found. No dash lights. Tire last replaced about 5 weeks ago. Sensor still has line from manufacturer mold. No way it caused the ring to wear, nor would crap in the hub cause the ring to wear without damaging the sensor.

You look to be good to me. Do you still have ABS working correctly?

My ABS works. I'll stop trying to read between the missing lines and just ride.
By Wednesday this baby will hit 100,000 miles in less than 30 months.
Oh, and I may add, I'm starting to think about doing its FIRST valve check.
