Hello, I'm 6'4'' and searching taller windscreen for my 2013 S10.

So far, I found best looking tall windscreen is Yamaha's Touring winscreen

Does it provides enough wind protection for a tall guy like me?

Only if you get one of the adjustable windshield mounts like Toura Tech so you can raise your shield up enough for you. Then the Yamaha shield is good, but I think the National Cycle V Stream is the best. But I haven’t tried them all.

For your height, I'd take a look at the touring VStream shield. Can't beat the quality and fit on the Tenere and it works very well.

I'm shorter than you and run the sport touring version with Yamaha wind deflectors. Great combo with excellent wind management.

Several makers do a 24" shield. I use the CalSci 24" at 6'2" and I look an inch or two over the top. It's on a Touratech bracket mainly so I can change things in various weather conditions. As it is the screen gap at the bottom is only a little more than stock low. I went with the CalSci because I could test drive one. There are others I'd sure like to try. $$ :'(

The GIVI is 4" taller than stock and I think is the best-looking aftermarket windscreen. It's pretty much the same shape as the stock one. GIVI comes in two models for the S10. There's the 'sophisticated' one that is in two parts that slide up and down (but I don't like the looks of this) and the fixed model which I'm talking about. I haven't tried it yet but am very much tempted to go for it. At present I'm using the stock windscreen on the Madstad bracket with OEM side wind deflectors and buffetting is zero. But I need a little more windscreen hight as when I duck down a little (at highway speeds) there is a remarkble improvement in sound level.

::026:: same set up I run and it works well for me ::008::

P.S. I tried the Givi and while I had no buffeting I found the noise unbearable, odd as I thought the two were connected ?

I had CalSci on my previous bike (BMW R1200RT) and i loved it.
R1200RT had horrible stock windshield, and electronic adjustment couldn't do anything about it.
Before R1200RT, I had R1200GS which had great tall touring windshield combined with side wind deflectors.

CalSci windscreen for S10 has strange shape. It looks like it could be used without side deflectors.

Unfortunately there is no test ride in this case so man has to rely on previous experiences of other riders. :( :( :( :(

I found the Parabellum windshield combined with a Madstad bracket to be very effective. Customer service at Parabellum is excellent and they give really good advice about shield size. If you order taller than necessary they will trim it for you. I ordered taller than I needed and then trimmed myself to get my shield just right. With the Madstad bracket I did have to trim to fit the hand guards.

I had one, but it didn't work for me. The curvature of the shield hit me square in the face shield and produced a lot of wind noise. I've been using the short oem screen from day one. I might try a vario screen down the road. Heard good things about that screen.

Get you a Madstad adjustable windshield bracket and a 22" windscreen. That will cure all of your issues.

Tried a lot without success, including the original high screen, to get rid of the terrible buffeting that made highway a pain in the .... The solution that works for me is the Givi airflow with Touratech bracket (changed the "adjusting screws" to normal wingnuts cause they just didn´t stay on). Still windy but no buffeting. Angled back as far as possible and most often in the lowest position it works very nice. 6.1 foot tall. ::26::

Robe,
Not sure if you have a '14, or the earlier generation, but my experience is with the '14 with has a different stock bracket for the windshield, for what that is worth.
I am 6-3 and the stock shield clearly did not work. I got the Yamaha tall, clearly better, but not good enough. I added the Yamaha side deflectors and results were better yet, but I was not satisfied with the head turbulence. The side deflectors reduced the wind on my shoulders substantially.
I put on the XL Cal Sci and it worked GREAT to quiet things down. However, I was still not totally satisfied because I ride off road a lot and want to be able to see the holes and junk up close without looking through the shield. It worked great on the street but was at maximum height that I could still see over it.
So last week I put the Madstad bracket on. I tried it with the tall Yamaha shield, and could not find a setting that worked. Now I have the Cal Sci on the Madstad and have ridden only once, but this will work.... I am now just fiddling with it to find the best spot for calm air and to have shield down out of my vision as much as possible. It could be that I will have a setting for street riding, and just have to lower it to another setting for the trails.

You say you "angled the windshield back as far as possible". I have good luck with angling the windshield forward. I got the idea from the add-on lips. They always direct the air up. Look around... many windshields have a small lip designed into the windshield. Reverse the spacers on the lean back idea and should find a positive difference.

Robe, I have been doing a lot of long distance riding (over 9,500 miles since June) including the Ark Rally and have had as great ride using the Parabellum tall 24" screen. Fits right, on the Mastead bracket and is quiet, no buffet, clear with no distortions. I'm happy with it. . . for what's it's worth ;)

I have the Yamaha tall and Touratech bracket set at the max height. It's just about perfect so the top of the helmet is slightly in the wind stream. I'm 6'2 so it would likely be a little short for you.

Robe - I'm 6'4" myself and found the best set up was the California Scientific Large shield on a Touratech adjustable mount. I tried five different shields and two different mounting systems before arriving at that conclusion. The Yamaha factory side wings make a huge improvement with any shield you may run. I think the CalSci works best because of the hole in it that equalizes most of the negative air pressure behind the shield at speed.

Robe, I'm of exact same height, and the Touring shield "per se" is crap. Buffeting in excess, stand up riding is just awkward with it etc.
My friend is 6'4'' too, and he liked it... he never tried anything else though, till recently when he finally installed the TT mount. Noe he loves it.
I, i wouldn't change my oem screen paired with TT bracket for nothing in the world.
Low or high, i just keep it as vertical as possible and i love it.
