EDIT: redid the Hard Start advice from the sticky and for whatever reason it started this time. Let it warm up and then switched it off. Starts every time now! What a relief! ::012::

Hi all!

I could really use some help, as I'm pulling out my hair here (what's left of it).

In July I did the James Bay Road (which was awesome). On the last day we did a shortcut through the woods (Chemin du Bois Franc) and unfortunately I went down hard in some sand and broke my leg pretty badly (how I got out of there is a whole other story!). The only apparent damage to my Tenere was some scratches and a torn coolant hose. I had to have the bike towed out and hauled back to NY where I live. The bike started on the road and when going into storage.

I was just able to go get the bike and trailer it back two weeks ago and it will not start at all (as in, wouldn't start in storage and won't start now at home). I replaced the coolant hose, refilled the coolant, changed the plugs and the air filter (very dusty roads), but no change. The bike will turn over and sometimes has a faint sputter, but nothing near starting. I checked the ignition fuse and it is intact. I charged up the battery and tried jumping it from my car, just in case. Nothing. Full tank of gas too. The plugs were a big smelly when I got them out, so it seems like it's getting fuel.

I read earlier posts about how the bike can get flooded if started and shut off before getting fully warmed up, so I tried out the advice there (wide open throttle, spoofing the diagnostic mode to clear the system) but no success. As I said, the bike was run to load it onto a truck and again to drive it to a garage. Seemed to run normal both times, aside from the coolant leak.

I'm a novice mechanic, so it's possible I missed something. The only other symptom I can name started before the trip, in that my battery would go dead if the bike sat for a few days. It started after I installed a new power port, which seemed like an unlikely culprit, but I have now pulled the fuse on that to see if it makes a difference.

Any advice would be welcome, as I'm going crazy here. ::010::
