I usually leave my Arai XD3 hanging on my handlebars. Sometimes I'll fasten the strap thinking it could slow someone down from a quick crime of opportunity. But I suspect no one has ever bothered it. On very rare occasion I'll put it on the helmet lock, but it's in such a PITA location that's it's a real effort. If I'm really concerned about a location I'll just take it with me.

4 or 5 years ago at one of our HSTA (now MSTA) rallies in southern MO, we had a lunch stop at a restaurant in the samll town of Piedmont. Probably between 75-100 bikes parked outside for lunch. One unlucky rider came out after lunch to find that his Duhamel replica Shoei X Twelve was no longer on his bike where he left it. You never know.

I have always left mine perched up on top of my gas tank when I park it in the parking lot at Orlando International Airport employee parking lot. It is a corner section reserved for bikes. I also usually put a cover on the bike, and I have found that others will put my cover back on if it blows off and I have found my helmet placed on the ground under my bike upon return and later found out that there was a bad storm. I also have my toll "e-pass" attached to my windshield with suction cups. So far, I have had no problems. It seems like all of the riders tend to look out for each other's stuff.

Man I guess I am way to leery of being ripped off! I never leave my helmets unattended. They are either locked in the panniers or the rear rack of the ST13 to the helmet lock of the FZ1. I would like to think fellow riders would never mess with anyone else's stuff, but I had some dick steal the rubber shifter cover off a Triumph Daytona 955i at a HSTA rally. I am pretty sure I know who did it too.

YMMV,

After having 3 motorcycles stolen (my first bike a CT70 and then two more at 1 time TS185 & a 2000 XR650L) and a clean 1979 Ford f150 SB 4X4.

I did not recover a one.

I don't trust anymore. Shame on the first one I catch trying it again.

Like ColoRider we leave the helmets on the bikes. Any way hope I did not piss you off SisuTen or any one ells. To tell you the truth Colorado blew me a way and I am hoping Rod will adopt me when I retire in 4 years.. :-[
Shoot, no worries! You can come ride with Rod and I ANY time!

I do the same and put my Helmet on the tank. I always thought it would be funny if someone actually stole it and put my XXXL ??? lid on their puny head. I buy black ones because with white I look like Jack in the Box. :D :D

Helmet lock

Guess it does not have one. What a absense of vision by yamaha. I really hate lugging a helmet in everywhere I go and I won't use a top case on this thing. I have been using my cable lock that I normally use on my Aerostich jacket or suit.
