Howdy!
I have been lurking here for a short while, so I figured I should go ahead and join up.
I currently ride a 2012 BMW R1200 RT. While I really like the bike, I want to be able to do a little more with my riding. I want to be able to do dirt/forest roads without having to worry about replacing all that expensive plastic if I should tip over.
Before the RT I was riding a 2004 JFR. I made the jump to the RT before the Gen III's came out. While I liked the FJR, the BMW had so many things the FJR didn't; cruise control, ESC, heated seats and grips, better ergonomics (for me) and MUCH better wind protection.; maybe a little too much protection in the summer.
After having ridden bikes with cruise control I know that I don't want another bike that does not have cruise on it. I was considering going to a GS until I discovered that the S10s now have cruise!!! I really like how bullet-proof the Yamaha's are.
Now I am heavily leaning towards replacing the RT with a Gen 2 S10 sometime this winter.
