I have decided to retire my trusty DR650 and thinking about a white Super Tenere the Yamaha dealer has leftover.

I will have a few questions of the members here, hopefully you will be patient while I try to learn more about the bike. I'm also interested in how it compares to the other bikes in it's class. I joined this site to ask these questions because after looking on Advrider in the Beasts section, the posters there are very juvenile in the way they speak about other riders or any other brand of motorcycle that isn't a Yamaha.

Hoping this site has a more adult membership.

Welcome to the forum Sid. You should find many of your questions might have already been asked over the year. Good luck with your search.

Welcome to the forum Sid. Like you are now doing, I spent a considerable amount of time considering the pros and cons of various brands and models before settling on the Super Tenere. Fire away with your questions. There is a lot of collective knowledge here about Adv bikes and only a small bias (sic) towards Yamaha. Cheers, David

Hello..
Eclipse Mints Say Hello to Fresh TV Ad

::004:: Sorry for that juvenile outburst.. ;D

Welcome along Mr Jones.

I am surprised that Snake didn't mention how it differs.

It's a giant softened up dirt bike with nice seats is the main difference. Vs mainly jacked up street bikes.

I was too busy hiding in shame. :)

The other forum is supposed to be like Vegas. Right?

Thank you for the welcome. I see now that this site has some of the same members as Advrider does.

I will head over to the correct section of this site and ask a few questions I have about the Super Tenere. Hopefully those who like to ridicule and condemn products and people at every opportunity will not respond.

C'mon, Sid - lighten up a little. I read that forum as well. Juvenile at times? Yes. Ridicule and condemnation? I don't see that. I see good information interspersed with some hilarious back and forth between people who know and like and other and are just having fun.

That said, welcome to the forum. If you pull the trigger on the Super Ten I think you'll be thrilled with it. I made the jump from a KLR650 to the ST and I basically never rode the KLR again. It's now for sale on consignment at a local dealer.
