Good day all, been lurking on the site for the last week or two and decided to join. I am going to be purchasing a S10 by spring 2014. I am debating on purchasing one sooner than later but with winter looking like it's setting in here in Alberta I'm not in a real panic yet.

A little about me, I currently ride a 2007 KTM 950 SM and absolutely love it but it is a bike made for the paved twisties of the rockies and I don't get a chance to make it out there with the bike anymore with having 2 young kids. I bought the SM in 2008 and did a trip down the west coast to LA and it was a real blast but since then have had the 2 little ones and anything more than a day trip is pretty hard to do now and the 950 isn't that great to ride unless it's all day twisties. It takes a good part of a day ride to get to the roads where the 950 can really shine.

This is the reason the S10 is the bike for me now. I live North West of Calgary Alberta and there is so many back country roads very close to me that I want to start exploring on a adventure bike, so many more options for an awesome day ride right out my back door, off the pavement away from all the traffic.

Cheers! ::008::

welcome Cberg.

I'm in the SW. Surprising amount of ST owners in Alberta.
I'll be doing garage night on various subjects (fork rebuilds, basic stuff, how to drink beer etc..)

If you're interested PM me.

oh ya some stuff here as well: thetenerist.wordpress.com

Welcome on, Cberg. Always nice to have another Canuck to class the place up a bit. Watch out for Greg the Pole, RedCat, Camshaft …. they are a rowdy bunch. ::004:: to the Forum. Plan on making your way up to Whitehorse next summer. R ::022::

Thanks rem,

I would like to make it up your way but not sure if it will happen next year. It will be one of the next trips that the wife and I will be doing though. We've gone south down the west coast a couple times next will be a tour north. She rides as well and most likely looking at a DL 650 for her.

Lots of great Adventure riding just a little SW of you. Great machine. Why wait. Blackfoot in Calgary is blowing out 2013 S10s at $14,000. Get em while the're hot. 2014s may have a few small extras but will basically be the same bike.
Maybe we'll show you around next summer, if you're good! ::001::

I've looked into a new 2013, also have been eyeing up a couple 2012's that are loaded up with all the goodies, one with 11000km, could save me thousands of $$$.

I live just minutes off the coal camp road and really close to the trunk road. Great riding north or south, with an S10 can't loose in either direction!!!

Welcome Cberg.

I too have a 950 SM. Crazy fun!

But, fair warning...............the Tenere will snatch your heart and kill the battery on that SM. :)

Hopefully when the weather permits and I have a bike, which may be sooner than later, I can get out on a ride and meet some of you... ::26::

Nice part of Canada to be from (says this ex-Ontarion). Maybe the 2014 ST will have significant modifications to get the reviewers and dealers excited about the bike again!
