I rode a Black Bird a few years ago and was unimpressed to say the least. I’m guessing that it must have been a dog because so many people love them. It was through a dealer that had traded it and that dealer was known for dodgy practices.Welcome from Northern Illinois. One of my other bikes is a 2001 CBR 1100XX Super Black Bird. Good to have choices when you walk into the garage!
It is a 10 sec machine in the quarter mile. it's no dog. now it is pretty docile under 7,000 RPM but above that it will take the uninitiated by surprise. under 7,000 it is a pussy cat that anyone can ride. At 90 mph the aerodynamics really starts to come alive and the bike squats down and becomes very stable and the calm bubble around the tucked rider is awesome.I rode a Black Bird a few years ago and was unimpressed to say the least.
