Picked up my new Super Tenere two weeks ago, hit 1500 miles on it last night. I had a 2009 BMW GS Adventure that I let go two years and I really missed it. I tried to replace it's forest road exploring abilities with a Husky TR650 but the Husky fell short comfort wise on longer trips. I started looking at the latest BMWs, and road the WetHead a few times. Decided to try the S10, got a test ride, took it home. It fit's me well, I love the way it delivers power. The simplicity and easy of routine maintenance is a big plus. There's a bit of a cost savings too, enough to keep the Husky in the garage with it.

While not riding I've added Alt Rider crash bars and skid plate, a powerlet outlet for my heated gear, a gps setup I'll post separately about, and the OEM top box. Based on all the reports on the luggage I didn't think the OEM luggage would be very satisfying, but after 1k miles with the top box I bought the side cases too, along with all the OEM liners which I found to be very impressive.

Thanks for all the good info posted here, I did a lot of reading and have have learned a bunch. ::012::

Here's some highlights from the first 1500 miles.

Welcome! I'm just south of you in Sherwood. The PDX area Tenere crowd keeps growing, we all need to meet up one day!

Very nice, krussel. Is that Mt Adams? What are the roads that those pictures are taken from?
(from the State just North of you).

Hi Salmon Sam,

The pictures are from three different rides. I've been busy covering as much of my favorite Cascade Range rides as I can before the snow hits.

1) Quartzville Backcountry Byway from about 20mi east of Detroit OR to Sweethome via NF-11. All pavement, but lots of gravel exploring. On this particular trip I think I saw two other vehicles over the 60ish miles. Great views of Mt. Jefferson.

2) Lolo Pass from Zig Zaq, OR to Dee, OR. I took NF-18 then turned off on to NF-16, i like the views from 16 a bunch. I make a loop out of that one and go up Hwy 35 then back to Zig Zag on Still Creek Road. (NF-2612)

3) The Mt. Adams shots were mostly from NF-99 on the east side of St. Helens. From Portland I go up to WA-503 then west past Cougar to FS25 and north to FS-99, then back the same way except I usually head south all the way to Carson, WA and then come back on 14. That ride was amazing this time. It was dead calm which is really unusual. I saw about four other vehicles the whole time. I ended up staying up on NF-99 and exploring and taking a pile of pictures and before I new it the sun had set. The ride back to Carson in the dark wasn't to bad but there were a few spots of ice and a lot of spots of pretty slippery frost. I don't know how accurate the air intake measurement is but I was reading 38/39 in the higher spots. Thank goodness I took the time to get a powerlet installed prior to that ride. Just cranked up the heated liner and gloves.

Krussell,

Ironic that I we've communicated on the Husky Terra forum and now you're here. I have a Husky Strada and the Tenere I bought in August 2012. I'm across the river out of La Center --- Although I'm headed to Arizona for the winter, I'll be back in mid April 2014. Perhaps there will be enough of us in the area to gather for a meet and greet/ride.

Hi John! Small world. I've still got my Terra and Strada. Current plan is to sell the Strada and keep the Terra. Thinking back through all Husky riding this past year I think there is only one place I wouldn't have gone with the Tenere. We'll see next year.
