Hello!

I recently bought a 2013 Super Tenere with a billion kilometers and engine issues and have been scouring the forums for weeks looking for the answers to my issues. I've since solved the problem and I'll post it in the technical section. Hopefully it can provide some insight for someone down the line.

Welcome, from Texas. That's quite the worthy project you have there. There's a lot of knowledgeable guys on here. TABASCO is one of the best.

Thanks everyone. I had never seen a Super in the flesh before, and other than the one I've got, I haven't seen another since. Definitely not the most popular machine around here, but I sure love it. I've had crotch rockets, honda cruisers and a KLR before, but this thing takes the cake. It's got zip, handles beautifully and is super utilitarian. Wife needs groceries - bike. Returning empties - bike. Camping or traveling - bike. I went to use my car a few weeks ago and the battery was dead and a tire was flat. I didn't even care. Just another reason to use the bike.

Greetings from Winnipeg, you're right about prairie S10 scarcity. Only have seen one here. I too come from the KLR realm. Love the Kenora area, so many nice roads and good memories. Good luck on the rebuild

Thanks! The KLR was great, but I wasn't a fan of how underpowered it was on the highway. Didn't take long for my hands to go numb with that thumper hitting close to 5000rpm when traveling.

The bike is all rebuilt now and runs top notch. Turns out the engine timing was off. I had also read about the clutch basket on the forums here in regards to the first gen Supers having bad vibrations below 3000rpm so I broke down and spent a pile for the next gen basket and any engine shake/roughness has totally gone away. I'm loving this bike now.
