I've been lurking for a few months and thought I'd now join the ranks. My previous was a 2005 US spec FJR. After 55000 flawless miles and an agonising decision after a sit on a friends Tenere I decided to go for the Tenere. I've had my black Tenere from the beginning of August.
Due to the short side stand I lowered the suspension so the bike now stands better. ::025::
As many have said the bike gets better the more you ride it. On the FJR I could do a 200 mile stint and enjoy a coffee at the end of the ride. On the Tenere I wonder whether I should have the coffee or just do the 200 miles back to base and then have the coffee. Its a very amenable vehicle and the weight, where's the weight? I think I felt it once when reversing the bike down a slope. A lot easier than the FJR.
So I'm located in North Derbyshire , a stones throw from the Peak District and Sheffield in the UK. I tour, mainly camping. I used to 'green lane' with my little 250, but as yet , I haven't been off road with the Tenere. I hope to see you on my travels.
