Been checking the forums out .Right know i'm riding a Honda Sabre looking into getting a ADV bike and Yamaha is on my short list. Been looking at them all BMW, V storm, and Triumph, right know i am leaning very heavy to the s10 ES. more than likely it will be used 70 road and 30 off road . still trying to decide . Any information would be helpful, Not being able to turn the ABS off easily , has it been a problem with any other owners?
Any way i have enjoyed reading the forums .

Hello and welcome. Don't worry about the ABS, it has been sorted by Yamaha, but there are ways to turn it off if you really feel the need.

You can turn it off.
And you might even do it. Once or twice.

But then you will discover what 99.9% of us have.......why turn it off? It works fantastic off road.
And I have ridden with some CRAZY off road Tenere lunatics. Guys that will follow any tiny little faint line on a GPS, thinking it means a motorcycle can go there. :)

Join the club - the s10 is a great bike ! Better finished than a V-strom (i've had 2) & it's got shaft drive, less top heavy than a Triumph and you won't look a cock on it like a BMW. enough said.

a simple hello, Bbice58, lots of answers in here... and the 'Not being able to turn the ABS off' is such a non issue,
one would think it was part of the BMW marketing scheme.....
As several have said, it is really a non issue with the ABS. I am on my second Tenere and really don't feel the need to turn it off anymore.
