Hello all I’ve just registered for this site been looking in for the past few months.
Located in Norfolk UK, arrived at the S10 via the following

1976 started out with a brand new AP50 Suzuki on my 16th birthday –RD250 Yamaha (blue with black and white speed blocks hence the colour choice for my S10)- 400-Four Honda- 550 Four Honda- Z1000 Kawasaki- Z900 Kawasaki- Triton project bike BSA M21 project bike both never made it on to the road during my ownership
.
Then after a 10year gap its now 1999 I need to get back to bikes a 76 Harley Shovel Head project GULP! bad decision, 3 engine strip downs in 1 summer almost put me off Harleys forever.
Followed by another 76 Z900 - 76 Z1000 and another Z1000 (still have this one currently being restored) - a 2003 SV1000-2000 Aprilia Falco-96 Harley Dyna 1340 evo -2003 1450 Harley Road King – 2008 GTR1400 Kawasaki - 2009 BMWR1200 GS - 2009 Harley Fat Bob (still got this one) – 2008 Buell Ulysses – 2010 Buell Ulysses (vastly under rated bikes IMHO) followed by 2x 2013 Triumph Explorers both of them suffered multiple trips back to the dealers, traded the second one in for the S10 March 15 reg my first new bike since the AP50 back in 1976.

A warm welcome from North Yorkshire ZED1000, nice to see you on here,

I too have had a brush with a couple of Kwaks over the years ;)

You won't experience the regularity of dealer visits now you've got the S10 ::008::

Thanks for the welcome

‘Heather land and bent-land,
Black land and white,
God bring me to Northumberland,
The land of my delight.

Land of singing waters,
And winds from off the sea,
God bring me to Northumberland,
The land where I would be.

Heather land and bent-land,
And valleys rich with corn,
God bring me to Northumberland,
The land where I was born.’

I was born in Haltwhistle lot of my family live there and Hexham we visit every year fantastic biking roads in Northumberland.

Aha...I wondered if it was you Andrew, but I didn't want to presume ....well I am old ya know and therefore somewhat easily confused :D

Anyway, good to see you on here, and now peddling an S10 which I feel confident will widen the grin on your chops, its a whole lot different/better than the underrated Versys 1000 ::012::

What colour S10 did you get

Had to be Blue with the black and white speed blocks, same colour as my 1976 RD250.

I find the S10 a perfect fit for us bit down on the power compared to the EXP but far more manageable better balanced more confidence inspiring much better cruise control, most of all I honestly have no worrying thoughts about the S10 letting me down or needing to spend time at the dealers for recall work, nor do I have any worry about fasteners and casing finishes dissolving during my ownership, both My EXPs had multiple visits to the dealers for fault and recall work, both had serious corrosion to fasteners and the start of corrosion ingress on the casings, such a shame as I wanted an explorer from the day they launched them, only bought the second one because I thought I'd been unlucky with the first, then the second one was back to the dealers within 7 days of me buying it.

Not really answer for Richard more me to thank you for.
Dropped the bike in to Tinklers today for its first service took me 3 1/2 months to do 800 mile been to busy to ride how sad is that, and it's mid June the Harley is not even taxed yet so it's gonna be a short 3 or 4 month riding season for the Harley this year.

I know what you mean, I think lots of bikers want the Triumph to be good, and after the debacle with the Explorer I would have hoped that Triumph have got things sorted.

For me the S10 ticks the boxes, but thinking towards the future as I get older and maybe not as able to manage the weight of the S10 I would be looking for a replacement, a Triumph XRXc would be on the list of possibles.. shame it doesn't have shaft drive though ::) otherwise its looks like an ok bike..a visit to owners forums may say otherwise ;)
