New owner of a '12 Tenere. I live out where the asphalt ends, so I'm excited to have a bike that can make it up the driveway. I was so excited,I bought it without a working speedometer. Turns out no traction control either. I'm using gps for speed while I hunt down what I hope is a bad wire.

Givi skid and bars put on this weekend and then some backfired tour time with my daughter. Life is good!

Welcome to the world of the Super Tenere. You live in a great area for riding---I live in Waterloo, Il and was riding in Missouri yesterday south of St Louis.

Check and see if the wheel ABS leads are intact on the both wheels. It is easy install the rear ABS plate/lead incorrectly during a tire change.....

I took both the sensors off and cleaned them. The plate? Is that on the wheel? I noticed that the finned section on the rear wheel has been worn down on the inside of the fins near the brake. How can I tell if it was not done correctly?

Hello and Welcome! The “finned” part you mentioned is the part that the sensor screws in I assume. There is only one way to mount it , there is a little L shaped section on the finned plate that has to line up with the rear caliper mounting before tightening the rear wheel. Check that, also check your wheel bearings,if they fail there is a chance the sensor might come in contact with the hub magnets.I recall Jaxon wrote about this issue in the past. Same goes for the front,if I remember correctly “L” section lines up with the fork bottom mount.Hope this helps.
