Just picked up my 2nd s10 yesterday, plan to keep this one (unlike my 1st which I sold to buy a r100gspd). Looking forward to riding it as long as my 73 year old body let's me. Rode it 300 miles home with one gas stop, so I guess it will do!

Welcome, from Texas. She had to be on fumes. Even with 50mpg. You must have taken the back roads, and no 70mph highway.

Thanks everyone. I was mostly on the interstate and 4 lane state roads at elevated speeds, raining and ready to get home. I mentioned a gas stop, the last 197 miles was non stop and the fuel light started blinking about 3 miles from home.

Ooops. I read "without" one gas stop. Yeah, that makes a lot more sense.

Frank03, if all goes well and I am able to go . I will (still in planning stage ) inter Mississippi at Natches , and go from there . probably travel the Natches trace across the state to Corinth (Shilo battle field is my turn around destination) then head east and possibly follow the river road to Vicksburg . then its back to Texas . no camping if I do this trip , will be in a hotel each night . other than starting in Natches my plans and daily destinations are fluid . my bike is ready ,now its get me ready.

The trace and shiloh battlefield are definitely worthwhile. You might consider continuing a bit further to land between the lakes and exploring there.
