I'm Mark, I just picked up my new to me 2012 S10. I took it over 4K miles on the test drive. This thing came with nearly everything I'd want to add to her already installed!

I just got back from my first weekend ride on a bunch of twistys in the Front Range just west and south of Denver. I can't get over how stable/planted this thing feels on gravel roads. It's fantastic on pavement. Tons of power compared to my KLR.

Soon it will be time to take this big girl out on some 4 wheel drive trails.

Welcome from Oklahoma! I moved from Parker, CO back in 2010. Great riding out there... PM me your contact information and I will give you a shout the next time I ride out to colorful Colorado.

I just topped of the tank for the 2nd time, I got 52 mpg.

I'm really surprise I'm getting that kind of mileage for a mix of weekend ride and a day commuting.

I'm game for one day this weekend, work will dictate. I've read some posts about LONG rides in a day. I'm thinking we should try to make it a 2 tank day on the road one of these weekends for starters...... And trails when you get the skid plate and engine guard.

Maybe we can get some other folks here to join us!

I'd be up for a ride when I get back to the front range next week from a ride I'm doing now around the western slope now.

A long ride is just what I had in mind. Lets shoot for meeting at 7am Saturday morning at the NW corner of where I-70/hwy 40/hwy 93 meet at the Conoco Station. We will head up I-70, to Silverthorn, take hwy 9 up thru Kremmling to hwy 134 around to Steamboat springs. We can have a late breakfast or early lunch there. When we leave, we will go over Rabbit Ears Pass, back thru Kremmling, Fraser & Winter Park over Berthoud pass onward towards home. This will make a big figure 8 trip with minimal back tracking on the same roads. This would be about 6.5 hrs drive time & 334 miles per Google Maps.

Welcome, Mark. If you don't already have it, get the book Motorcycling Colorado. Lots of great rides in there (both tarmac and dirt). Very well worth the money!
