Just thought I'd jump in and say hi officially. I've been reading up and asking questions as I'm about to pull the trigger on a new bike and the S10. Is on my short list.
That being said my list is kinda crazy. Right now I'm looking at the St, the 1200gs, St1300, goldwing. I'm not sure what direction I want to go with my next bike. I ride a lot of miles and I've always had dual purpose adventure bikes.. 13 in total from xt250s to Dl1000. I'm not a big off roader but I like to explore the occasional dirt road and get back into the woods for a little camping.. But for as little as I venture off road in not sure if I'd be better served with a purpose made mile muncher like an st1300 or goldwing.
I'm my mind the St1300 seems to much like a sport bike and my wife can't imagine up owning a goldwing until we are members of AARP. For some reason she is more hung up on the looks and image of the bike then I am. I'd ride anything if it was all day comfortable.
Which is why I'm selling my vstroms and looking for a new bike. No matter what I do to my vstrom I get a sore neck and back after two hours.. And I have literally done everything to adjust the bike to fit me.. Bars, risers, corbin seat, peg lowering. So I'm not sure if I need a more stretched out sorta sorta laid back seating position or what.
I had the same issue with bicycles until I bought a recumbent then I could ride all day in comfort... But in motorcycles that means a cruiser and I'm just not a cruiser type person.. So the search continues.. Although I did find a rental place that has the 1200gs and st1300 so I'm going to try both of those out.
Sorry for the ramble!
