My first post.
I am currently looking at purchasing a New 2013 ST. The local dealer had a 2014 at a great deal that I missed by a day.
I noticed it on Sat evening and went to the dealer on Monday afternoon. He sold it Sat afternoon.
But, he told me he was getting some leftover 2013 ST's in later this week. The price is right.
I have been looking for a used adventure bike for awhile. Mainly BMW GS and KTM 990 versions. Sorry but i really didn't think much about
the Yamaha until recently when i found that I can buy the ST new leftover for about the same price as a 5 to 7 year old of the others.
My current rides are a Ducati ST3 ::012:: that I tour on solo and a KTM 200 XCW ::26:: for off road. Long time enduro rider here.
Now my woman want to do some tours together and can't do more than 2 hours on the back of the Duc, so time to add to the stable.
I registered here and have been reading everything I can. I am already planning accessory purchases and I don't even have the bike yet.
I have a choice between White or Grey. I am leaning towards the White. It looks to be the faster of the two colors.
Tell me what i need to do to it right away. I am a competent mechanic and do all my own service on my bikes and some of my riding buddies bikes too.

::004:: to the forum from Oklahoma! I have a matte Grey 2014 ES and really love it. I like the Matte Grey because it gets dirty and doesn't look as dirty as my black 2012 I used to have. ::025:: White is a great color....

Welcome aboard and YES there are some screaming deals on the 2013 bikes! My lady prefers the Tenere 2-up to pretty much everything else we've been on. I did flatten the seat with a piece of nylon under the front bolts and no matter what she gets on, she takes her AirHawk.

btw - I had an ST2 and loved it. The 3 was the best of the series - but I'm sure you already know it!!!

I will be in your neck of the woods in September. 3 of my buddies and I are doing a fly and ride on rentals starting in Calgary.
We have a friend in Calgary that will be leading the way. 4 days in the Canadian Rockies. I can't wait.
