Eric, we should try to organize a regional ride. Lots of options, weather is Perfect (that's perfect with a capital P). Get SoCal, Utah, AZ, NV involved. Death Valley?
Anything is possible if you can find the lodging spot. Death Valley has jump off places like Shoshone, CA with camping and motel, Armagosa Valley (Longstreet Inn), or Beatty, NV (Stagecoach, Motel 6 and others).

Riding wise, I've explored just a little bit of Death Valley and some is more suitable for 650s than the big Super Ten. But there are rides that wouldn't push the envelope too much, depending on the group. I have way more street experience than dirt experience, but am pretty comfy on gravel.

There is a lot to explore out of Gerlach as well.

Finding the time and energy to organize it could be as challenging as actually doing it.

Hey Boys (JoNeil) I am free most Sat's but this one. I coach the High School Softball team and we have a fund-raising event this Sat from noon till 6 pushing kids off a snow covered hill here in Summerin. (Yes, they blow ice/snow over a whole hill and let the little kids sled down. My girls seat the, push them off, and catch them at the bottom, BUT they can't do it without meeeee. So stop teasing me with these great ride oppurtunities. The following Sat is free? (hint hint) and it would be great to get ALL the local and Utah boys together for some of these rides.

Eric V, I always have a couch or spare bed available to a S-10 rider, especially if you've had a bath in the last few days ;-) Lodging is no trouble for you here in Vegas and I'm always up for a overnighter somewhere as long as I can tell JoNeil and Dan Busch one more story!!!! ::)

I stayed behind Eagle foe quite a few miles on dirt and he did a great job! I have no doubt he can keep up with us as long as JoNeil is not dragging us across Engineers Pass at 60 mph with a 2,000 foot drop off one side!

My only other Sat that I'm busy is Feb 14th for my CCW renewal. But just being married for Jon, well . . . . . .

I love the idea of a regional ride! I'm in for one of those anytime

Merchant, I forgot you were there!!! And yes, it was the very best trophy and yes, Snake knows that because he wanted it for having a broken bike the whole time ;-) See you guys soon. Luke

I'll keep that in mind, but it's only an hour and a half ride from your place to home, so it would have to be pretty drunk out for me to need the couch. :D

If we can come up with an idea and date that works, who knows what fun and trouble we can get in to.

Ok, how do I explain "I just gotta go to Vegas" to friends and family, but that I'm driving there?

Actually, they'd believe it. The other reason is so not like me.

Ok, Snakebitten, you along with everyone else on this thread, have inspired me. Also, my apologies to Eagle 777 for high jacking his intro.

Watch for a thread titled, "Destination: Las Vegas".

Details to follow.......
