I'm enjoying my new 2012 Super Tenere which I purchased late 2013. I only have 800 miles on it so far but I'm very happy with my purchase. Thanks to this forum I have purchased some good aftermarket goodies and have a few more to get before I can take a longer ride. I was able to hook up with TwoLukes and take a ride which was awesome. Kudos to him for helping learn how to make a post. Maybe some year I will be successful in attaching a picture. Does anyone know when the main 2014 Super Tenere Rally will be and where. I would like to slot some vacation time to attend. I'm also interested in meeting all the Super Tenere riders in Southern Nevada. I would like to do some day rides with you when I can. Thanks for a great forum. Please be patient, I'm not a great techy person.

Welcome and congrats on the bike. As mentioned there has been some discussion for the 2014 rally but nothing official as far as I know.

You already met TwoLukes?
Uh oh.
You might have gotten the wrong impression of us if you think he is representative.

We aren't near as cool as him. Or as kind. Or nearly as interesting. :)

But more than all that, NONE of us can crash as pretty as Twolukes. Yea, I said pretty. In fact, it was beautiful. Art!

I love that guy. Lol

Anyways, welcome aboard. It would be a delight to meet you at a Tenere rally. And be sure to bring the ole man with ya.

Greetings and Salutations from the deep Southeast.

Congrats on the new ride - I'm sure you're going to love it!

And Snakebitten has a great tutorial for posting pics around here - I'll see if I can find the link for ya. Ya gotta learn to post pics - we're a visual bunch - and as it is on most forums: "Pics or it didn't happen."

Found it - this should get you posting pics in no time:

OK, Eagle, Thanks for all the props for taking you on a simple ride and giving Snakebitten a chance to bring up an old, long lost, event in my Newbie life! Of course, I did get the BEST TROPHY EVER, hand built by Tabasco, that proudly sits on my mantle! Snake is just jealous he didn't get it!!! I guess someday I might post a picture or two of the beautiful crash I took following a bunch of off-roaders with not one KNOB on either tire (Mitch Pilot-1s) that didn't hold on a turn during a 100 mile dirt road, but who is remembering that?????
Joneil really needs to set up the next ride, but just being married, he is engaged elsewhere ;-)
OK, I guess I will try to set up a ride soon. I want to explore the Excelsior Mine Road over to Tacopa Hot Springs on my next long ride. I'll start working the details! (Should have done it tomorrow to celebrate MLK's birthday! but too late now.... I'm so glad to have met you and look forward to many great rides with you and the Las Vegas crowd! Luke

Snakebitten, My name is Roy D. Mercer and I'm about to poor a 55 gal drum of Whoop A** on you. When I see you this summer, I'm going to be on you like grape juice on an Easter dress!, Like ants on a dropped snow cone! You just HAD to bring up my past transgressions when I am still suffering from Post Traumatic Crash syndrome!!! Just how big a boy are you, anyway???

Welcome to the forum Eagle777 and congrats on your new Super Tenere. I'm a bit North, but in range of Vegas/Henderson. It's about 130 miles to Vegas for me. I'd be interested in joining riders down there for a ride too.

There is a lot of good info and fun stuff on the forum, so poke around and have fun exploring the forum and your new bike.

There are a couple of events on the calandar for 2014. If you go the main forum page you will see the various sub sections of the forum. One of them is Events http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?board=22.0

In that section are all the events in various places as well as already competed events still having discussions.

The 2014 Super Tenere Arkansas Rally is perhaps the largest - http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?board=68.0

But there are other events in the Texas Hill country, West Virginia, etc. Lots of choices for travel and adventure.

Good info on posting pictures by one of our own - http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=9056.0

Gary, Luke, Dan, et al, how about this Saturday. Short ride. From Eldorado Valley to Hwy 164(Nipton Rd) then lunch in Searchlight, NV. Easy ride and the road is in good condition so no Dakar experience is required. It's a dirt road, as opposed to a dirt trail. Don't have to ride far to get in the dirt, Good "Pavement to Dirt Ratio" as I like to call it. I can even show you where Dan Busch and company tried to kill me.

Eagle, did Twolukes show you the trophy he won at last year's rally? It was the result of the "crash" Snake is referring to.

And greetings from Texas. Welcome to the madness.

Sounds like a great ride. I'll be in Beatty, NV on Sat though, riding in the White Stag Rally. I hope to make it for a future ride with you folks though.

Eric, we should try to organize a regional ride. Lots of options, weather is Perfect (that's perfect with a capital P). Get SoCal, Utah, AZ, NV involved. Death Valley?
